New Britax seats

Britax is releasing new models that have reinforced headrests!  That means they're able to be used far longer than their previous versions.  The lack of a reinforced headrest is the reason Britax seats aren't recommended for tall children - their seats have always been outgrown rear facing when the child has an inch of SHELL above their heads.  Now we get to use to within an inch of the fully extended head rest, just like the beloved Gracos and NextFit :)

We're probably all out of the infant seat by now and have purchased our convertibles but this is a big change and opens up more possibilities for those of you with taller kiddos who may have been partial to Britax for whatever reason :)

Re: New Britax seats

  • O is still in an infant seat. :\">

But I saw these yesterday on fb!

I want to switch him to a new car seat, but there are so many options! I can't choose.

He still fits, I assume :)  You can use it as long as he does but let me know if there's anything I can help you with :)

  • We are still in the infant seat too.  I've been looking into what we want next and told DH we should purchase soon.

    I'll say yay!

Assuming I'm reading everything right that means it will be the longest lasting rear-facing seat in Canada?
Assuming they bring the awesomeness to Canada ;) Hopefully they will. After 2 parents being in car accidents recently I'm like that Britax allows you to continue using their seats a minor accident. I'm hoping more manufacturers will do the testing on this so it can become the norm.

Oh yes, he still fits. It goes up to 30 lbs and 29 inches. (Maxi cosi prezi)
Owen is only 17 lbs and 25 inches.

The new baby will have this carseat though, so I'd like transition him soon.

We just got done looking at seats. We like the graco milestone. But still would like to look at others.

That one kind of slipped onto the scene quietly.  There's been a lot of talk about the 4Ever and this is Target's more stripped down version.  It feature two fewer recline settings than the 4Ever and converts to a high back but not a no back booster.  But removing those features saves you about $70 off the cost of the 4Ever and when the time comes for a no back, they're $20 or less.  The 4Ever is supposed to be an amazing seat so I would guess the Milestone is too :)
