Sorry if this has been asked before...

We are slowly weaning of bm. I just stopped bm after his first nap. He seems fine with it but doesn't like wcm. I've warmed it, had it room temperature and cold. Any advice on getting babies to drink wcm?

Any other mom's weaning? How's it going?

We are down to an am and pm feed. I don't know how ill ever get him off the bm then!

Re: Wcm and weaning question.

  • Following. I've been unsuccessful wih the cows milk too. He takes a few sips and throws it. Ds1 never had an issue with the transition from breast milk to cows milk. I feel like I'm going to be pumping forever.

  • No advice but we are In the same boat. She is weaning on her own at this point but has no interest in WCM. I'll just keep offering. One of me friends told me she was offering for months before her son finally drank it.

  • We mixed slowly, and started warmer than moved to colder. She mainly drinks from a bottle still, but no more BM. Next step is some kind of cup.

  • Didn't have a problem with this but I was also going to suggest maybe trying a different kind of milk. Almond, soy etc.

FWIW, my little cousin did NOT like cow's milk, she still doesn't really like it and she's now 7. But she loves goat's milk.

  • We did half BM and half CM to start and thenwent to all CM. Are you using same bottle/cup as with BM? I also tried to give her all CM first thing in the morning bc I knew she was more hungry then. Just keep offering.

  • He only had a bottle a few times and loves his sippy cup for water. I was hoping to bypass bottles. I never really pumped much so don't have bm to mix. Maybe I'll give almond milk a try!
  • We have to use a different sippy for water than we do for milk so you might could try that. We also tried the Nuk Active Sports cup which made the transition easier.

  • Our pediatrician recommended adding a little chocolate to it, and that helps a lot.
