Getting induced

I might be getting induced on Sunday and I have no idea what to expect. Can someone please tell me a little about their experience. And will I have to wait before I get put in the delivery room or will they take me straight back?

If you're getting induced you will already be on the roster so to speak so a room will be ready for you. Inductions can last anywhere from a few hrs to days, just depends on your body. As for what to expect that varies too. How will they induce you? There are different methods to try and your dr will decide and you can agree or chime your preference in. In most cases they will insert a pill that will soften your cervix. Depending on how things go they might opt to give you Pitocin. (many women hate it as it brings on very strong contractions that become super fast over a period of time). Its your choice if you want it or how much you want. They will also ask if you want pain relief whether it be narcotics, iv or epidural. If you request an epidural they can give you full strength or enough to tolerate pain but still move around without a catheter. From there you just wait on baby and when to push basically.
