Hey everyone! So I'm constantly googling baby questions (I had my first child in February--a boy) I have and message boards are always popping up so I finally figured that I may as well become a member on one. (Luckily!) The Bump made me look around before being allowed to post and it looks like you guys have come to know each other over the last year? Am I still allowed to post on here or will I get a Gretchen Weiner's reaction over Regina George wearing sweatpants?

I read that thread last night and am not...Is there something I can say to prove I'm not?

I'm a little wary to share too much info about him right away but some can't hurt! While he, obviously, has a real name we have gotten him into the habit of calling him Bear (that is where the Bear in my screen name comes from and Doodle is what I have nicknamed my pup...it now looks like I'm obsessed with nicknames). He was born February 10. He rolls over and laughs like crazy but has zero interest in sitting up. His new favorite activities seem to be ripping glasses off of people's face and pinching like crazy! He also gets a kick out of clothes being thrown around the room so I'm constantly making a mess anymore and that is why we are lying on clothes in the picture....I included one of me in it so that maybe you'll see I'm not the beach bum? We have started rice cereal and I have been very interested in baby led weaning which is what made me really consider joining all of you-I don't know anyone who has done it!

It's creepy as hell, but I have heard about people taking random internet baby pics and claiming them as their own. And relatively recently. I think someone just got caught doing it on March 15.

I remember hearing stories of people stealing other's pictures, too. I don't post pictures of my kids because of this. I hope this isn't that situation, though I do wonder why she hasn't come back to answer questions.

I didn't want to be the one to point out that she ignored our questions, and that she didn't even bother coming back to the thread. My gut feeling is that the pic isn't of her. It was a fleeting thought, sure. But it did cross my mind. I'll apologize in advance if I'm wrong, but I have a feeling that someone here is playing catfish.

I don't think she's really a "random who just happened to stumble upon our boards" because mean girls reference, knowing how to PIP easily, etc.  She's a reg or previous poster of some sort.

That's why I asked her how long she has lurked. For someone who just stumbled upon us, I thought it was odd that the Mean Girl reference was the first thing we saw of this "new poster". Red flags went up for me and that's what led me to not be part of the welcome committee right away.

I hate how cynical we all are, but I completely agree with this tinfoil hat business. I feel bad for any newbie who makes an attempt at infiltration, because we trust no one.
