TTC After a Loss

*~*~*Ladies in Waiting*~*~*

***BFP Warning*** There is a BFP at the very end of this check-in. Please scroll past it and skip it if you're having a bad day.

Welcome to Ladies In Waiting. This is a group designed for all the ladies in the various stages of waiting after a loss: waiting to miscarry, waiting for AF to arrive, waiting to TTC again, and waiting for a BFP. Since this process is such a true test in patience, it is nice to have the support and friendship of other women going through similar experiences and emotions.

-Check in is every Wednesday- New members: Post an intro and your current TTC status. - Current members: Post updates, link to your chart, upcoming appointments, prayer requests. - Weekly check-in's will include an inspirational quote.

Please do not worry if your name is not on the check in, I only put those that participated in the previous check in. Please make sure that if you get a BFP to PM me. I try to check PGAL, but sometimes I may miss it.

I look forward to getting to know you!

Love, BookishMomma

Current members- Please update us as to how you're doing!

Re: *~*~*Ladies in Waiting*~*~*

  • Hi Friends! I am currently in my TWW, but not sure how to feel about our chances!! Since my D&C I had had two months of thirty four day cycles so I fully anticipated ovulating Yesterday or Today. To my surprise I had the creamy egg white sticky CM on Monday so I did a ovulation predictor kit and it came back positive. We totally bedded when we got home that nigh (Monday night)!! We took Tuesday off from bedding (DH has trouble with low sperm count so we only ever do every other night) and we had every intention of bedding Wednesday night. On Wednesday morning I went to temp and I had burning pain when I did vaginal temping. Then went to the rest room and shooting pain when I used the restroom. I have a history of UTI's so I called my RE who had me do a urine test and told me no bedding for forty eight to seventy two hours. UGH!! We hope Saturday or Monday did the job, but if it didn't we will look forward to next month! Hugs to everyone who needs them!

  • Hi @BookishMomma, I'm going to hop in to this check in if you don't mind! How are you feeling? I've been thinking of you! Hope all is well with your recovery.

    Congrats @shandorfml2‌!!

    @DenaMaree‌, GL! I hope your timing worked out!

    LDubHawksFan, I hope the next week flies by for you! I was also very anxious by the time my first AF was expected for the same reason you mentioned - having a time frame to try. So I can relate!

    AFM, I'm new here! I got my first post-MC AF on July 26. My cycles are kind of irregular and in the past I ovulated anywhere from CD18-25 (I temp, OPK, and CM/CP check). But the cycle we got PG I ovulated on CD16. This cycle, I was peeing on OPKs upwards of 3x a day waiting for a +, and finally did get one on CD18. Not sure if I ovulated that day, or CD19 (my charting was a little inconsistent prior to O because we were out of town). But we've been HIO every day for the past 4 days. I was not going to get a BFN this cycle for lack of trying! lol. So, now I'm in the TWW, 1 or 2DPO (no CH from FF yet). Here's my chart if you wanna lurk/give insight as to O day. Thanks for having me! As it's my first TWW post MC, I'm very nervous and don't want to get my hopes up too high. Hoping you guys can keep me sane ;)

  • @LDubHawksFan BIG HUGS!! Waiting on that first AF is torture, I hope you get it on schedule and it treats you well! What is your plan of action following your first AF, are you able/planning to start TTC with the first O post AF?

    @MrsPhD83 Good Luck, I hope you get your BFP!! Will you do anything special during your TWW?

So if it's a BFN I will have plenty of fun vacation stuff to distract me. If it's a BFP I guess we'll be celebrating! Are you doing anything?

    I'm feeling OK. Can't wait to get this stupid balloon catheter out tomorrow! Other than that I'm feeling pretty good. Just a bit crampy and uncomfortable, but I'm back at work today and feeling generally pretty good. I peeked at your chart and, if I had to guess, I'd say your O day is CD18. But a couple more days' worth of temps will tell for sure!

  • @princessisadora Big Hugs!! Welcome to the check-in! I hope you and your RE can get a good plan of action into place!

    @MrsPhD83 DH and I pick a project or two to complete around the house during our 2WW's. I am focusing these two week windows on purchasing new window coverings for all the bedrooms. Right now we only have shade's up so I'm adding decorative curtains. If we get a BFN we will put the projects on hold until our next 2WW ;)

  • @LDubHawksFan You have such a great outlook! I hope you get your cycle soon and it's on track thereafter so all falls into place for TTC come Oct! Come on AF, Make your appearance!

    @petitchou1019 I can completely relate to going through beta he**. I ended up trying maca powder in my morning smoothies and I do think it helped my beta's drop quicker until they hit 20. From 20 to negative it slowed down and took a few weeks and to hit two then two weeks later AF finally appeared. The good news was that once AF made her appearance I went to a thirty four day cycle (I was at thirty one before the MC) and it seems now to be consistent. I hope your beta's drop quick and you can finally start looking at what your next steps will be!

    @ashtog Gosh Darn AF why did you have to show up! So sorry to hear you are at CD1! I hope that you have a noticeable ovulation and this is your month for your BFP. Hugs my friend!!

  • As for me....Its now been almost 8 weeks post mc and I'm still waiting for my betas to go down. 2 weeks ago I was still at 242. I was scheduled to go in again Tuesday but I took a pregnancy test Monday night and it was positive so I knew I was at least 50+. Ugh. So I rescheduled for today to give it a little more time. I just got back from the appointment and it was a real bummer. The technician asked me how far along I am and I teared up and told her I had a miscarriage. Fun crying at labcorp! So now I'm just waiting to hear back from the Dr..I'm kind of hoping it's not until Monday because if the #s are still high it will put me in a bad mood. :(

    Of course you can join us! I'm sorry your betas are taking so long to go down. It took a long time for mine to go down after my last loss, too. It took 10 weeks for my HCG to reach less than 5 after my D&C. I got AF on CD70, the next day after the blood draw for my negative beta. Unfortunately, I also ended up having retained tissue in my uterus from the D&C, which I just had removed this week.

    In the meantime I ovulated and got AF like normal, though, so if my doctor had not had me come in for a hysteroscopy, I would not have known about the retained tissue. I don't mean to scare you, but it wouldn't hurt to give your doctor a call and ask if maybe he/she could take a look via U/S or other means to make sure all is clear? I kind of wish I would have called earlier.

  • @denamaree FX for good timing!!!

    @ldubhawksfan When my first post MC AF arrived I did a dance of joy!

    @mrsphd83 I'd guess O was on CD18. Its hard to be sure missing those couple temps before . Looks like you had good timing!

    @petitchou1019 I'm sorry the lab tech opened his/her big mouth. Hoping betas are down soon!

    @ashtog CD1 can go to hell. O will be here again before you know it ;)

    @charliefox30 That sounds exactly like me 2 weeks ago. My first post D&C AF came 12 DPO but I had zero PMS symptoms. (We were also TTA with condoms). Hope it comes soon!

    AFM, I'm waiting to O and it's making me crazy. I usually don't O til CD19 or later, but I've had watery CM and I swear my cervix is super high/soft. So I'm using OPKs like a crazy lady and DTD daily just in case O happens sooner (which would be awesome!). It's only CD13 for me, but I know things can change after a loss so maybe my O day will move earlier. I'm not looking forward to the insanity of the 2ww but I'd rather that than this!

  • mpiemont, I know what you mean about preferring the TWW to waiting to O! I was going NUTS waiting to O. FWIW, I O'd around my normal time, so don't wear your husband out too much before CD19!! lol. I actually feel much more calm now in the TWW. It's like...I did all I can possibly do! The rest is out of my hands. Hopefully after O you will see a drop in the frenzy too! (Although if I am going nuts come 7DPO or so, please someone remind me of this!)

  • Hello, I'm new here.

    I'm waiting for my betas to return to zero, so I can wait for AF and then wait a cycle to TTC. Waiting, waiting, waiting - 3 times the waiting lady...

    I had a quant drawn (**AGAIN**) today. It was 32 last Thursday. It has been dropping very slowly for the past 5 months. I really want it to be my last...not only am I feeling like a pin cushion, but nothing depresses me like hanging out in the waiting room with all the happier ladies...
    When I got back to the office my health insurance called my work line to offer me classes bc I am pregnant...no I'm not and I don't appreciate you calling my work phone to discuss it as my work doesn't know - THANKS, you suck =D>

    Hi ladies! I want in on this check-in! I am waiting to O, even though FF says I already did, I know I haven't yet. Silly FF. DH and I are BD every day and hopefully this month will be the month! I normally O on day 13 so hopefully our timing will be perfect!! Here is a link to my chart if anyone wants to stalk it :)

    @Denamaree FX for a BFP!

    @LDubhawksfan Hopefully AF comes and goes uneventfully

    @MrsPhd83 I like to pee on sticks too, let's start a club. The ladies here always remind me not to start peeing to early, but I love to know, surprises aren't my thing :)

    @princessisadora Welcome. Hope this is a normal cycle for you. ((Hugs))

    @petichou19 FX for dropping betas

    @ashtog sorry you are CD 1 and sorry your LP is being short :( did you call your doc?

    @farniegirl hopefully those betas drop soon

    @mpiemont let's both hurry up and ovulate!! YAY for BD :)

    @readinglove YAY for the 2WW, FX at the end there is a BFP
    BFP #1-- 8-25-12, DD Born 5-1-13
    BFP #2-- 5-6-14, MMC 6-13-14, D&C 6-13-14
    BFP #3 -- 8-26-14, EDD 5-10-15

  • @denamaree FX for good timing

    @petitchou1019 I'm sorry your tech was just another reminder. That stinks. ((hugs))

    @princessisadora welcome. I'm sorry for your loss.

    @bookishmomma hope you are more comfortable once they deflate your balloonerus. GL tomorrow

    AFM: I'm sure I'm in for weeks of waiting. Had my Post D&C appointment the other day and was given the go ahead from my doctor. For my own emotional wellbeing, and what I've learned through you ladies, DH and I will be TTA until AF shows her glorious face. Maybe next month. Hopefully I don't end up with a ridiculously long cycle. I've decided to start temping on top of my OPKs this time around. Its all still very new to me and I can't figure out how to add my chart to my siggy yet. I'm surprised I even figured out a signature!

  • @shandorfml2 Congratulations!

    @DenaMaree Good Luck!

    @LDubHawksFan Hurry up AF!

    @MrsPhD83 I am horrible at charting so I have no advice there, but good luck!

    @princessisadora I’m sorry for your losses.  I hope your RE has a plan for you soon.

    @BookishMomma I’m glad you’re feeling pretty good.  Good luck with the balloon removal tomorrow!

    @petitchou1019 I’m sorry you had a bad appointment.   I hope your betas have dropped a lot.

    @ashtog Sorry about CD1. Hugs!

    @CharlieFox30 I hope AF shows up as expected (I know you’re TTA, but it still feels wrong typing that) :)

    @mpiemont Here’s hoping you O earlier now (again, a weird thing to type) :)

    @farniegal I’m sorry about your insurance.  It really sucks to have a ‘sneak attack’, especially at work.  I hope your betas are down.

    @readinglove Good luck, and I hope your O date is correct.

    @kcrkcs Stay away from Google! I hope your doctor has a plan for you.

    @Lalalady54 Good luck!

    @uromys Good luck with temping and I hope you have a “regular” cycle.

    If I missed anyone, I'm sorry and Good Luck!!

    AFM:   I'm new too!  I'm 2 weeks post D&E.  My cramping and bleeding has stopped, so I'm just waiting on AF now.  I meant to start temping, but I'm awful with remember.  Hopefully, next cycle I can do better.  I have my follow up appt in 2 weeks, and my OB wants me to TTA for 2 cycles.  I'm just hoping my cycles don't go crazy so we can start trying again in October.

  • Hi ladies! This stuff sure is a test of patience, is it? ATM I'm waiting to O. I used to O around cd 20, but we'll see. My last cycle was the first since my IUD was removed and I O'd on cd 36. If I get to cd 24 and haven't O'd I think we'll TTA since my gut tells me that late ovulation had a part to play in the miscarriage. I'm on mobile so I can't reply to everyone individually, but ((hugs)) to those who need it. Fx for the ladies in the 2ww, I truly hope this will be it for you! Congrats on the BFP @shandorfml2‌! Fx for a H&H 9 months!

  • Hi ladies. I am currently entering my TWW. I started charting but got messed up because of vacation so I am basing everything off symptoms/where i am in my cycle. I've had two normal AFs since m/c and even had EWCM during those cycles. Never charted before so I always assumed I ovulated every cycle but now I know it may not be the case. Judging by the fact that I have always had regular 28 day cycles I predicted that my fertile week was this past week while we were on vacation. Great cause we dtd a lot! Only discouraging thing is I haven't noticed any EWCM this cycle. I am hoping for the best but don't know how good our chances are. Now to wait....got one FRER in my night stand just waitin on me!

    I hope that I didn’t miss anyone been dealing with some craziness for graduate school. AF finally started Wednesday but light for the first time in my life. Hopefully, my regular cycles won’t change, just hoping for time to pass quickly until I reach my 2 cycle wait.

    QOTW: What a beautiful quote! Exactly what I needed.

  • I'm a newby, hoping I am doing this right. I am currently waiting for my miscarriage to happen. I had a 7 weeks ultrasound and there was no heartbeat. That was two weeks ago and my body hasn't passed it naturally in those two weeks. I've elected to use the medication you insert into the vagina (misoprostol) instead of a D & C. I am doing that today. This will be my second miscarriage since February. Both ended at the first ultrasound appointment with no viable heartbeat and both I've used the medication to pass it. At my follow up appointment yesterday options were discussed as to what I could to figure out what was happening and possibly prevent future miscarriages. The doctor mentioned a sonohystogram and taking progesterone after ovulation. Has anyone done either or both of these?
