I'm going to be a day early for the check-in. I'm not sure how much I can be on TB tomorrow and I'm the type of person I'd rather be early than late. I'll check in with each of you when I can!

Welcome to the TTC a Rainbow Sibling check-in. This check-in is a for TTCAL-ers with living children to talk about the issues about TTCAL while you have a living child. Living children and pictures of living children are welcome here, however if your pictured child is an infant (< a year old), please do place a warning at the beginning of your post to alert ladies who are having a hard day.  You do not have to be active on the PAL board in order to be a member of this check-in, however, if you plan on posting on the main board please post an intro there.

This past week has been crazy. Harley got her ear infection last week. By Friday she had a rash which we thought was following the progression of whatever my nephew had. Until my SIL told me his rash looked completely different when I sent a picture of Harley's rash to her. By Saturday the rash was gone, but I called the Dr anyway. It came back, but not as bad, after I gave her the morning dose of medicine. I took her in as they asked me to do. Now it looks like she is allergic to Amoxicillin. Fast forward to today, I took her back in because she keeps getting these spots that are on her belly, upper arms, and thighs about a few hours before I give her the new antibiotic. The NP thinks these hives are something from a virus she has and could come and go for several weeks. Her ears are not showing any signs of healing even after 7 days of antibiotics so they gave her the antibiotic shot. I have to take her back Friday to make sure it worked or else they have to give her another shot! Ugh!

Emotionally I feel drained. For those that didn't see my post on TTCAL I found the scrapbook page I made stating Harley was going to be a big sister, then this morning found out a friend from my M'13 group who found out she was pg a week before me miscarried and had a D&C this morning. Also, I talked to my other BFF about having my mc and she is so sad for me. I feel bad having told her, but I couldn't not YKWIM?

Did I mention I'm kind of crampy and still wait for AF?

What a week @nieko0423 I was going to guess HFM when you said spots since it's been going around like crazy, but it sounds like it's antibiotic related. I hate her ears aren't better too. I'm so sorry that you got gut punched and for your friend's loss. Thinking of you!

Things have been basically quiet here. We're renovating and it's going slower than anticipated. We got our new bed and mattress delivered today so it's all in my study. The house is kinda crazy. So far all my test results are still normal.I just o'd so we're headed towards actually ttc again I guess.

Thanks for the check-in @Nieko0423 I'm so sorry Harley has been sick. I really hope she feels better soon. It seems like illnesses are worse in the summer sometimes. At least they are for me! Viruses can do weird things. Lots and lots of rest and fluids! 

AFM: I am on CD18. After monitoring my follicles for the past week, they never grew past 10mm. My RE called me today with the results from yesterdays blood work and he said my estrogen is only at 20 and FSH is really low too. He said all it tells us is that I'm not ovulating this cycle and he thinks we just caught a really weird random cycle, he's just stumped why this would happen on the one cycle I take Femara which should have helped me ovulate. I meet with him again on 9/2 to discuss a plan. He said he's really not sure where to go from here since I came to him for multiple losses, and now the one cycle he monitors me I don't ovulate. I'm like the freaking virgin mary. Also, I benched myself the past two cycles and of course I ovulated on CD16 both months like clockwork. I've never not ovulated before, so why now??? SO annoyed. It's late and I've had some wine so I'm sorry for rambling.

Hi all, this will be quick because it's my first day back at work post-surgery so I have piles of stuff to do. Surgery went well and the doctor was able to get all of the retained tissue out. I have to wear a balloon catheter in my uterus for a few days. That comes out tomorrow. THANK GOD. I'm on a course of hormone therapy and we're looking to TTC again in October with IUI.

@Nieko0423, thanks so much for the check-in!!  Sending you so many ((HUGS)) for your tough week.  Sometimes I'm fine for days in a row and then something triggers me and I go from a high to low in seconds.  I can imagine how painful it was to see that scrapbook page.

@littlecookie  YAY for Oing and heading back on the TTC train!

@Goldengirl84 WTF???  How strange!  It's just crazy how much we think we know our bodies and then something super weird like that happens!!  Even though my IUI cycles were not successful, I think it's really important to give it at least 3 tries.  That way your RE gets a really good feel as to how you are going to respond to everything.  I'm praying for you, and sending a big TP to your ovaries.  Get with the program ovaries!!

@Bookishmomma I'm so glad your surgery went well and you are one step closer to October!!  YAY for getting your balloon out tomorrow!!  Does your RE think you had these issues with your uterus before this past miscarriage or was it from this last D&C?  I hope this makes all the difference for you!!

AFM:  I'm feeling really discouraged.  After 5 days of stims my E2 was only 71 (it should be in the 100s) and I only have 6 follicles growing.  Of course I've been searching the crap out of "low rising E2 success" stories and some people have had a great response to low and slow and steady.  I'm just FREAKING out that this means they are going to cancel my cycle and I just wasted all of this money.  I have another follow up appointment on Saturday.  I'm praying I keep all of those 6 follicles and that my E2 keeps rising.  Since we're hoping for one more baby I don't need 300 eggs, just one perfect little plump egg to make it to the end.  I just still can't believe I'm here, doing IVF and freaking out.

@sarcaztic10  I am also SUPER emotional on the progesterone supplements.  I start crying at the stupidest thing.  Hope that the clomid does the trick for you this cycle!!!

@Nieko0423 I wouldn't feel bad about telling your friend about your loss. I think it's so important to show people our hurt and vulnerable sides as well as our fun and happy sides. Life deals out some awful shit sometimes, and it's the tough times that bring people closer, IMO.

@littlecookie I'm glad your tests came back normal so far!

@sarcaztic10 I feel sorry for my DH sometimes, too, for having to live with moody, emotional me. But then I think, nah, guys have it soooo much easier.

@goldengirl84 - so sorry you are having this funky cycle.  I would be a mess.  It just doesn’t make sense.  I hope the time until 9/2 flies by and you can come up with a new plan.  Has he brought up DOR at all?  

@BookishMomma - Happy your surgery went well!  I hope that October is here before you know it and the IUI does the trick!

@Frenchteachermama - I’m sorry that things are so rocky right now, I really hope that things look much better on Saturday and you get that one perfect little egg!

I'm hanging in there.  Pretty much an emotional mess.  Physically I've been fine up until today, but this morning my body decided to start bleeding like crazy.  The nurse said it was unusual to have no bleeding and then lots of bleeding a week post D&C so I'm supposed to take it easy today and go to the ER if it gets worse.  Otherwise I'm okay to just be seen tomorrow at my post-op appt.  I'm really hoping the pathology report is in.  I need a plan.  Obviously we are not going to be able to do this on our own, but my insurance doesn't cover any sort of fertility treatments.  So I guess we will see what our options are.

ETA: Just called DH's insurance (aetna) and it looks like his plan may cover some treatments, depending on diagnosis.  Looks like I may be switching during open enrollment for January 1 coverage date.  FX they cover what we may need.

@ellebelle2384 I had no bleeding the week of my D&c and a lot the week after. Everything turned out totally find for me.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes for Harley. I feel bad having to take her into the Dr since she really hasn't been bothered by anything since the fever and sore throat last week. Update, took her in this morning: her ears are not as clear as they wanted, but are clearing. We were going to get the second shot until I realized she was getting some hives on her legs and belly that weren't there yesterday. Seems the shot is of the same "family" as the second antibiotic. Now Harley will be on the children's liquid version of Z-pack. I'll take her back in 2 weeks for a re-check and then we will talk to her Dr at her 18 month appt since she is considered on "the cusp" of possibly needing tubes.

That being said, I hope to not be as much of an AW with next weeks check-in!

@littlecookie, I'm glad your test results came back normal and you can start ttc again! I don't remember, are you doing a whole house reno or just certain rooms?

@goldengirl84 So many hugs!! I hate when our bodies don't want to cooperate! I know you said you have O'd on CD16 the last two cycles, are you usually that consistent or could you just be Oing late?

@BookishMomma I'm glad they were able to get everything this time. I hope getting the balloon out today isn't too much of a pain! If AF ever shows her face we may be October TTC buddies!

@Frenchteachermama, I'll be honest and state I don't understand a lot of your update, but I have my everything crossed that everything improves for tomorrow! It is very frustrating since all of us have had a healthy pregnancy and now all of a sudden it's kind of like "What's changed". Hoping for some healthy eggs!

@sarcaztic10 I'm sorry the medicine is making you so emotional. If nothing else, get YH some booze and I'm sure he can handle the roller coaster of emotions from you. Hugs!

@ellebell2384 Sending you lots of hugs! I hope your post-op appt gives you some answers and that the insurance covers whatever the plan will be going forward!

@mara005 I am so so sorry! I can't imagine the stress you are under. I hope considering your circumstances the insurance company will work with you!   >:D<

@MichieU79 The molars are rough...we were lucky/unfortunate that once the first one came in the last 3 came in 2 weeks later all at once. I'm sorry about the Mom in your BMB. I would not wish any of our situations on anyone, but it would be nice if women like that had a semblence of knowledge into how it feels. A Mom in my BMB is due in Jan and she has a SCH (which she did with her son) and it's causing off and on bleeding, but she has also suffered a loss previously and feels bad bringing up things about this pregnancy. There have been a few of us in my BMB that have had losses over the last 6 months.

Just an update on us.  Pathology report was in and baby was a boy with Trisomy 16.  RE says we basically have two options because everything except my egg quality is normal.  #1: Try on our own knowing we have at least a 40% chance of miscarriage (based on history I am at 80% right now).   #2: IVF with PGD.  With my insurance it would be totally OOP at this point. 

I plan to switch to DH's plan in January since it covers at least 3 rounds of IVF.  We will start trying on our own in late October/early November (depending on when I start getting cycles back).  I am willing to roll the die one more time, but I just can't really handle anymore losses.  So we very well may be moving on to IVF in 2015.  I'm pretty much in shock trying to wrap my head around the news that we lost a baby boy and that my eggs just suck and there's nothing that can be done about it. 

I do have a consultation set up with another RE at a different practice on Tuesday for a second opinion, but I am not anticipating any different news.  Just needed this to reassure myself that there's nothing else we can do.

I don't typically participate in this check-in but had to jump in to offer my ((hugs)) to you, @ellebelle2384.  That's a lot to take in.  Please let us know what Tuesday brings.

Also, how's your bleeding?  I had a break in bleeding followed by serious bleeding with clots and contractions about a week after my D&C with my first loss.  Once my body rid itself of the retained tissue that was obviously left behind from the surgery, things calmed down pretty quickly.  Does it seem like a retained tissue kind of thing for you?

@ellebelle2384 I am so sorry. I'm you a few months ahead, in the middle of my first IVF and can't believe it's come to this. I have to say so far it hasn't been so bad except I'm totally OOP for everything and it's so hard to be spending all of this money. I am sorry you have to start thinking about IVF but that is wonderful news that DH's insurance covers 3 rounds. ((Hugs))

@CheesyPeas - The bleeding has calmed down a lot and now it's just random spotting.  I haven't noticed much tissue passing but I'm assuming that's what Thursday was.  I'm still getting super + HPTs so I know I still have a ways to go but I just want to be done with this already!
