College fund or savings account for baby. Where to start?

Im 31 weeks pregnant with my first baby. We got some money for her from our baby shower and it made me realize i hadnt even thought about a savings fund/account for her yet. Any one have any recommendations as to where we should start? Thanks!

We opened a child account under our accounts at the bank for each of our kids, but it was after they were born.  If they get money/ checks we just deposit it in there.   We also have a college savings plan (529) for each child.  Each state has a different plan - I don't think you necessarily need to live in a state in order to sign up for their plan, so you can do some research.  We did do the plan associated with our state though.
