DS is Spencer Augustus.

Thoughts on these first names? (be as candid as you wish; other suggestions welcome; EVERYTHING appreciated) MN will likely be Aurelia. Last name rhymes with brightly

Re: DD is 3 weeks away - help me narrow the list?

  • My favorites are Elyse, Paige, and Daphne.

I feel like a longer fn doesn't flow as well with the long mn. Also, Julia Aurelia doesn't float my boat.

  • I like Juliet (Julia Aurelia sounds odd to me), Jocelyn (love this name), Daphne, Diana (though I don't think it flows well with Aurelia), Paige (though it seems to clash w/Aurelia), and Lauren (love this)
  • Good call on Julia!  Crossing that off.
  • Georgia Aurelia and Calista Aurelia are mouthfuls.  I love Jocelyn, Corinne, Juliet and Paige.  I would scratch Avery.  The others are nms but nice names!
  • My favorites on your list are Elise (do not prefer the "y" spelling and especially not with an A), Corinne, Lauren, Paige and Eloise.

Yes, Avery is DH's choice.  It's def. not my favorite.
You're probably right on Georgia and Calista.  I really like Calista... but we aren't greek so it also might just be too much Greek.

    Thank you!

    Thanks.
I wish I could love Elise but I can't.  I looks like you forgot the rest of Elisabeth to me... (which I know is where it comes from).
I know Alyse is non traditional, but one of my favorite movies/plays is The Lion in Winter which tells the story of Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine.  That's where I first heard Alys - Henry's mistress who was also set to marry Richard the Lionheart (AL-ees is how they pronounce it in the movies - there were two movies - and the play, though I believe the original play has it spelled as Alais; historically she is Alys, Countess of the Vexin). I know I can't get away with Alys without people calling her Alice (which, while cute, will always be the name of my childhood next door neighbor's mom to me... )...
Does that make Alyse any better?  That I have a "real" reason for preferring that spelling?
  • I like Aurelia, Lauren, Abigail, Calista, Eloise, Diana, Daphne, Carys, Juliet/Julia, and Anneliese (please spell it this way). My favorites are Carys Aurelia and Aurelia Juliet.
    YES! on Anneliese.  My bad...

Saw your DD is Amelia... that was on our list too, but Amelia Auerlia is just too much. ;)
  • I love Aurelia!

Of your fn possibilities, Daphne is my favorite by far, followed by Paige, and Chelsea.

I don't think names that end in "a" work very well with Aurelia, and even though Eloise is great it is also tough with Aurelia.

  • Diana!

If you're open to other middle names:
    Diana Mary
    Diana Rose
    Diana Alice
    Diana Claire
    Diana Elise
    Diana Eloise
  • Diana! If you're open to other middle names: Diana Mary Diana Rose Diana Alice Diana Claire Diana Elise Diana Eloise
Thanks! We are probably not going to change the middle.  It's a long story and really not that interesting, but of the few things I'm confident in the delivery of this baby, it's that her middle name will be Aurelia. :)
  • I like Lauren, Abigail, Georgia, Daphne, Carys, and Juliet!

I love Carys Aurelia and Daphne Aurelia!
  • I like Julia, Eloise, and Georgia, but not with Aurelia. Maybe Paige? I think a shorter name that doesn't end with a goes best with Aurelia.

  • Eloise is my favorite fn, but I like Carys better with Aurelia.

Diana and Spencer would be a bit much since that was Princess Diana's maiden name.
