My mother is refusing to get a flu vaccine..

I'm hoping my job will give me pertussis when I get my flu vaccine for free..

Does she have a reason? Or is she just be stubborn?

    Just being stubborn.
  • Ketchup chips sound gross.

I love salt and vinegar ones. Dill pickle is another favorite.

When I go to Jimmy Johns I get S+V and jalepeno ones and eat them together. Which is currently making my mouth water and making me feel barfy at the same time.

There are hiccups in my butt again.  Pooping with butt hiccups is awful. Not in a painful way, but in a my-butt-shouldn't-vibrate-while-I-poop way

    =))
  • Yes to Dill Pickle chips!!! A better version on s&v.

I am now ready to purchase my exercise ball to bounce on and squat against, as well as some red raspberry leaf tea.

  • @Saragoeswest, I lol'd because I've almost done that at least 10 times since being pregnant.

@syllessa, I had vag hiccups happening earlier.  That was interesting.  The hiccup thing is really throwing me off, but I always feel it in my pelvic area or lower.  Does that mean he's head down? Idk.

    I've been told it does.

    I did. hehe

  • Great.  Now I want some Paprika Pringles.  Only problem is that they don't sell them in the US and I haven't had a reliable source of them since my brother moved back to the US (from Germany).

Oh my gosh I love those! I lived in the Netherlands for a year and got addicted to them.

$16.50 for a bag of chips?! Does it fold the laundry and give me a foot massage too?!
Still way cheaper than a trip to Canada. Not saying I would spend the money on them. Frankly I'm just not that into ketchup, but for the ketchup enthusiast, the $ might be worth the experience? H and I will spend what most consider a ridiculous amount on beer if it's super special or rare, so I get it.

DH started watching a new tv show (new to him anyway) a few weeks ago, and after seeing about 10 minutes of it I told him that I didn't like it because of the amount of vulgar language, violence, and female nudity, and I told him I'd like for him to reconsider watching it, since he was still so early in the series. We are Christians, don't curse, and try to limit our exposure to it. And of course I'm not going to like my husband watching something that shows female nipples for extended periods of time. And, I've noticed him starting to curse a little since he started watching the show.

Well, he decided to keep watching it, and justified it by saying it's a great show, the plot is good, and that it supposedly won awards or something.

Well, fast forward to today. He's watching the show, curse words every other word, more nipples, and even rape. I'm getting more and more disturbed just sitting in the same room. So, he ends the show, and realizes that I'm upset, asks why. I tell him I really don't like that show, but that I don't want to dictate what he watches. He says he understands and that he'll stop watching it.

But, now I feel like a big jerk for making him stop watching this show he liked... :(

    What show? Just curious

As long as your opinion was stated respectfully, not as yelling at him or something, then I think you were perfectly reasonable and shouldn't feel like a jerk.

I'm not trying to be insulting towards you or your religion at all, so I truly hope this doesn't offend you...but if your hubs watching an adult TV show bothers you, how do you even stomach this board with all our cursing and sex talk? I'm totally just curious.
**quote fail** Not taken as an insult, no worries. There's a difference to me when reading a word versus hearing it. I can skim over the words that I don't want to read and still get the gist of what's being said. Different when it's on tv and you can't do that. I understand that sometimes that's just "part of the entertainment" of the show, but sometimes it's just over the top with unnecessary vulgarity. That's what I can't do. I mean, I'm a hockey player (when not pregnant), have two older brothers, and one of them is a sailor..so I'm no stranger to that kind of language. I'm in no way sheltered. I just choose to not speak like that and try to avoid hearing it. My breaking point with DH and this show was when I realized he started using some of that language, and that's not gonna fly in our relationship. Sex talk doesn't bother me at all. I'm obviously no stranger to that either. :P
    Gotcha! Makes sense

@MrsSarahRenee‌ The Wire. And I'd like to add that it's very possible that I'm overly sensitive right now, but he and I have always been on the same page about these things, and he's kind of been falling off the wagon recently.

I feel that way about HBO shows sometimes and I am not religious. The unnecessary vulgarity and nakedness of unattractive people makes isn't entertaining to me. That's why I asked.

  • @savagek7‌ DH and I decided about 5 years ago not to watch R rated movies/TV-M for that same reason. We do occasionally make an exception, but do so mutually. Its really nice to just have a general standard we agree on. Although sometimes I'm dissapointed to find out a movie is R rated because I was looking forward to seeing it.

Don't leave out the details woman!! What did you have??
A sirloin steak slice into medallion like pieces and covered in a creamy mushroom sauce, a baked potato with all the sour cream and butter a girl could want, with a vegetable medley.

FOLLOWED by this Italian almond custard....that sat on top of a vanilla cake.

SO's family is italian and Im fairly sure I know exactly what kind of custard you had. His nonna makes it and puts inside of sponge cake. Its sooo yummy.
