We've never had trouble finding out the sex. It certainly happens but more often than not they can get a good enough view to determine. Good luck!

People love dissecting word choices here. I'm sure you are equally anxious about your babies health.

I get what you mean--I was concerned about the same thing. I wanted to know that the baby was healthy and developing well, but I also was so hoping to find out the sex! We were able to find out but if you're not, hopefully you get other comforting news that he/she is well, and that'll hold you over until you can find out the sex another time. FX for a great appointment all around.

The word choice I was referring to was the word "terrified". OP is getting torn apart for saying she is terrified she won't find out the sex, so everyone freaks out and tells her to care about her babies health like she is some monster.

And if you read my post at all you'd notice I used the word "sex", not "gender". Clarify with someone or actually read their post before you flip out next time. We were not talking about the same thing AT ALL.

kyliedaniellexx, I can understand how you thought that and why it would upset you.

You may be right, but I think women on here can be pretty damn hard on each other. Phrase something wrong and people infer all kinds of things about you. In her first clarification post she makes it very clear she is concerned about the baby's health as well. Wish people would just go easy sometimes.

To answer your original question, no I didn't have problems finding out the sex at any of my ultrasounds thus far! At 16 weeks she showed us very clearly, however at my 20 weeks a/s she was very stubborn. They let me go to the bathroom and by moving around they were able to get a better view and confirmed she was still a she!

If finding out the sex of the baby is extremely important to you, go online and find a privately owned ultrasound facility near you. (Just make sure it's licensed and reputable).

They will bend over backwards to find out if your baby is a boy or a girl, because that's what you're paying them for.

PS: Don't opt for the 3D/4D at this point; the baby still looks pretty freaky and those pictures will look like ET on crack.

    Good luck!!!

Thank you for not jumping down my throat. I'm just excited to find out what we are having and am obviously concerned about the baby's health but no one on hear can give me answers to my baby's health. I hope you can find out the gender at your next ultrasound.
  • I never asked what the sex is going to be I never said my main concern was finding out the sex I never said I don't care about the health of my baby. So get off your high horse and get over your self. All I asked was how many people haven't been able to find out the sex. And you nasty woman flipped out at me. The forum is meant to be a place where you can ask other pregnant woman questions and get helpful answers not get abused about something the person never said. I have seen other people on hear ask a simple question and get torn apart about something they didn't say or miss worded. Thank you @katiescarlett1‌ for understanding what I was trying to say and for been nice
  • And calm the hell down @kyliedaniellexx‌ about the whole sex and gender thing is that really that big an issue for you. There the same dam thing so get the pole out of your.

Thank for actually answering my actual question not the imaginary some of the other woman on hear have a answered :)

No one here can give you answers about your baby's genitals either...
I didn't ask you what I'm having I ask how many for you haven't been able to find out. Got it through your head yet?

    QFP.

Lucky for you I'm too fucking drained by the rest of the shit currently going on in my life to even deal with you right now. I'll let someone else handle this one.

They are not the same "dam" thing.

No you just having nothing left to say

Ok terrified wasn't the right word to say but dam you girls can be nasty I asked a simple question of how many wernt able to find out the sex. Of course I'm also terrified of bub not having a heart beat but none of you can give me an answer to if my baby will have a heart beat or not.

No one was nasty - they were just pointing out that you had some weird priorities.  So many people do.  "I need to know the sex!"  "Let's talk about the gender scan!!!"

Finding out the sex of your child is completely secondary to finding out if the child is healthy, but very few seem to remember that.  It's sad, honestly.  These women were just responding to yet another post with some misplaced priorities and terror.

No one can tell you if your child is healthy no more than they can tell you if you're having a boy or a girl.  Just relax.  Worry that your child is healthy.  If you find out the sex, then bonus.  If not, you'll survive.  I promise.  My sister didn't know if her first was a boy or a girl and twelve hours after she was born, she had more than enough girl clothes to last the whole first year.  Seriously - not knowing the sex is not a big deal.

Dead fucking set did I ask if I'm having a boy or girl did I fucking say it is my priority to fucking find out. Read my question and answer that that one not the one you have made up in your fucking head!!!!

Hey now @firsttimeaussiemum‌ , I answered your fucking question & didn't give you any crap. Why do you need to flip out on everyone?

    Word choice matters.

Your choice of words implied and/or communicated that your first priority was finding out baby's sex. More than one person interpreted your post this way. Don't like it? Learn to communicate better.

Also stop insulting people & be aware that your audience is diverse from all different backgrounds. Your communication attempts make you sound like you are ignorant & close minded.

    Cut that shit out.

Sweet heart is wasn't talking to you when I wrote those comments. You did answer my question and thank you for that.
