1 cm dilated already.....nervous!

I'm 28 weeks and 1 day. Had a Ob appointment today and was told I'm 1 cm. Dr didn't seem to concern, but it still scared me. This is my second pregnancy. With my first I had to be induced because I didn't dilated so this is nerve wrecking. Have any BTDT mom's been dilated early and still have full term baby?

I've heard that after a first pregnancy, the cervix doesn't always close up as tightly, and it's pretty normal to just have its resting dilation be somewhere around there. If your doc isn't worried, I'd say breathe easy!

I was 1 cm at 32 weeks with ds and never went into labor.

Yep, your cervix doesn't full close back after first vaginal delivery.
Why was the Dr checking you today??

I was being checked because on my first visit my cervix was low. So we were told no sex. Dr wanted to wait until 3rd trimester.  Today was the day to see if we had the green light. ... but that didn't happen.

WildFlower810- I know Dr knows more but sometimes hearing things from women who have been thru it and can give advice is a little more comforting
