So let me preface by saying I don't give DS extra sugar beyond what is found in some puffs, animal crackers, or fruit. He has enough energy as it is.
So I have been looking for new snack options especially for on the go. I thought of trying some mandarin oranges. I found some that had zero added sugar and were sweetened with Monk Fruit Extract instead. I didn't really know what that was at the time, but I did look into it today. Seems natural. I tried the oranges and they have this funky artificial sweetener taste to me. DS was not a fan of the texture and kept saying "Ewww" every time he touched them. I just wonder, is it okay to give toddlersMonk Fruit Extract as the sweetener?
