This check-in is open to anyone that is part of the SAIF community and is currently pregnant.

 

If there are any newcomers that would like to be added to the list, post below and include you EDD and how many beans you have cooking.

 

Checkin is every Tuesday, feel free to post updates all week.

 

Q: Are you going to breastfeed? Did you BF the first? If you had problems BF the first will you try with second, will you do anything differently?

BabyKsMommy - EDD 12.3.14 -8/5 23 wks today so I can't wait for vday next week. I'm waiting for some call backs from nurses to set up my first monthly growth ultrasound. 

 

ccam - EDD 11.29.14 – 8/5 I'm just truckin' along - 23w4d today.  I think I had yet another growth spurt over the weekend or something because I'm getting big!  Getting up and down to play with DS on the floor is already difficult and I feel like I have so long to go!  But besides that, I'm feeling good and still sleeping so that's a plus.  Regular OB appointment tomorrow.

 

 

Ducky719 -8/5 I had my first ob appt today and heard a beautiful heartbeat in the 170s. I forgot how much i love that sound. Now i wait for the MFM to call to schedule my NT scan. My doc also said i will be monitored closer starting at 20 weeks since i had severe pre-e and HELLP syndrome w DD.

Eve_Angelique – 8/5 Tomorrow will be 37 weeks, I have an appointment and I am interested to see if anything is happening, she feels really low! Last week the cervix was definitely softening according to my m/w so that feels like progress! Now that I am done with school I am just working up until she makes her arrival!

 

Ironmom2be - 4/2 - My update is I'm in limbo between RE & OB. First OB appt isn't for another two weeks. Since I was still spotting last week, my RE offered to have me come in for another u/s, so that's next tuesday (9w) I'm feeling ok, seems like exercising is causing the spotting (my scientific study) so I'm trying to balance staying active enough that I don't feel like a slug and doing too much to cause spotting. I'm tired and nauseous (at times) so I'm just counting my blessings and hoping the 1st tri is over asap so my worries can hopefully fade a little

 

Jenny935-8/5 I had my 3rd and final u/s yesterday and saw the bean doing the jig. They were having quite the day at the RE's office - 8 OB u/s appointments in a row, and 7 of us were graduating. June must have been a good month. I saw a girl who I spent many morning monitoring days with, so that was fun to celebrate with someone who had been in the trenches with me.

Kdfecarie, EDD 8/29/14 (CS 8/22/14) 7/22 sorry its been a while life is crazy here right now, and i dont see it letting up till maybe november! 35 weeks now, and baby will be here in 26 days! I cant believe its so soon!!! Been rough with contractions and sickness making a return... Only a few more weeks!

 

KMC84-EDD4/11/15-8/5 Beta#3 2106! That's a doubling time of 25 hours......... Can the 21st get here FAST! Wowzers......

 

LuvBoston, EDD 3/9/15- 8/5 9 weeks 1 day today, had my first official OB appt and so far so good, OB is quite worried about my stomach issues because she doesn't want me to become impacted. She did a quick u/s and there's still a little bean in there. I feel abs awful my stomach constantly hurts and after I eat I look like I'm 9 mos pg and about to drop. I also have been feeling so sad I wonder if it's the prednisone finally taking its toll. I also blew up in the face so anyone that knows me well would be able to tell I'm pg. My parents friends figured it out. The joys of having to have immune treatment:)

 

mdiblasi10 –EDD 1/30/15- 8/5 I'm 14w4d today. I took my IV out on Sunday!!!!! I am still on the Zofran tablets, but I am eating again. I'm so, so thankful for that and hoping I continue to feel okay. My next OB appointment is next Friday.

 

Mayzie15- EDD 2/01/15- 8/5 I'm a little over 14 weeks and feeling pretty good - still not showing and not in maternity clothes yet. I really didn't show with my son until 5 or 6 months. I'm envious of the bumps and hope I see one soon. 

 

Mnerani – 8/5 31 weeks and feeling good. I'm trying for a VBAC (DS was emergency C due to cord presentation) and I'm studying Hypnobabies again, like I did with DS. I'm only working for 6 more weeks, which is exciting. I love my job but I hated working right up until I delivered last time.

 

 

Pennylane26 -Boy EDD 11.26.14 – 8/5 Heartburn is under control, they upped my meds and it is such a difference! Now seeing the OB and MFM every other week but my BP is still good and I'm feeling pretty good! Hoping to schedule painting and order the crib this month so we can get started on his nursery. That will make it feel so real!!

srveatch –8/5 Almost 23 weeks, feeling pretty good and getting bigger every day. I have been so hungry lately. I am getting excited about approaching v day. I go back to the specialist and OB next Wednesday. Good question of the week!!! A is still in a crib and I don't think she will be ready for a crib when LO2 is born. We plan on keeping LO2 in our room in the co sleeper or rock and play for the first 4-6 months. Hopefully we can get get A into a day bed during that time. If she isn't ready we will just buy another crib.

 

 

Robeano-EDD 2/3/15- 7/29  I am happy to be in second trimester! Here's hoping 2nd tri energy comes soon. I hate this feeling exhausted ALL THE TIME! Like honestly, I'm so tired, and I feel like I can't get anything done. Which does put a strain on me and hubby . Other than that, things are looking good. Nothing new to report.

Cwhitaker27 – 7/15 just wanted to update here. I'm not pregnant anymore cause baby is here. Scarlett arrived via induction at 5 days overdue on 7.1.2014. She is happy healthy and gaining weight like a champ. She is 2 weeks old today.

Waiting impatiently for my u/s to get here! (8/21) I'm exhausted and my face looks awful, but I feel good!

QOTW: I BFed A for 13 months with no problems and will definitely bf 2.0 for at least a year.

10 weeks 1 day, feeling better but nights are awful my stomach gets so distended. Also having Uteran spasms or irritable uterus so it feels like spongy contractions set off by my stomach issues, couldn't believe I was having them this early last time it was 16 weeks. I did the panorama test but not holding my breath as it didn't work last time.

Q: tried to bf it was a disaster never got milk really and nurses made my life a living hell. I'm agitated about trying again and am on the fence because I don't want all the pressure associated with it. If I decide to I will hook a pump up the minute I am in recovery. Last time they waited 12 hours to give me one. Also hopefully LO won't be in the nicu.

Update: Nothing new. Just about 24 weeks which is an exciting milestone! Scheduled painting to be done in the guest room (soon to be nursery!). I should probably also get some boy clothes… 

QOTW. I BF DD for 6 months, she got BM until 7 months from my freezer stash. I hope to BF DS until 9 months so my freezer stash can take him to one year. I'm not in love with BFing, but it was easy for me and buying formula is soooo expensive! It would be nice to avoid it with this one.

15 weeks now. And started having morning sickness last week. So not pleasant, I really hate throwing up and my mornings just suck now. It's not every day but it's more than I'd like. I have my next MW appointment next week, can't believe how far along I am already. It's going by so fast this time! I pulled out the bella band today and it's glorious! I think I'll need to get maternity pants again (mine didn't make it last time, well that's probably cuz I wore them for like 3 months postpartum ahahah)

QOTW: Ugh, I am still breastfeeding Hannah. I really wanna wean her but it's not going well. I had issues feeding Hannah last time but I was determined, but now my nipples are no longer flat, and I know to double check for tongue tie right away (that was our major issue). So I totally plan on nursing next baby, although I might try to wean around a year next time, cuz this is getting ridiculous!

I can't believe I'll be 16 weeks on Friday! I'm still taking Zofran, but feeling so much better. I'm eating real food again and slowly started some CrossFit again. It feels great. I have my monthly OB appointment on Friday and will schedule the anatomy scan then. So excited to see her again!

QOTW: I did breastfeed DS and really, really loved it. He actually decided he was done at 10 months. I'm definitely breastfeeding again this time and hoping she will go longer than he did

I'm 24w3d, hard to believe!! I had a regular OB appointment last week and everything looks great, right on track. Next on the agenda is my glucose screening and then my last 4 week appt!

QOTW: Ohhhh, breastfeeding. I had a really hard time with DS - shallow, hard latch, tongue tie, reflux....nothing in our favor. My supply never was great. I ended up BF for the first 6 weeks along with supplementing and finally switched to pumping. I pumped until DS was about 5 months and I dried up. I feel like I gave it a really good effort but it just wasn't in the cards for us. It makes me sad and I was really hard on myself. I'm hoping for better luck this time. I will definitely still try but hopefully won't be as stressed bc I know that formula won't hurt him or her, DS did just fine with it!

EDD 8/29 - getting anxious for my little lady to make her arrival! 

 QOTW: I did BF DS and it was huge challenge. Tongue tie, supply issues, reflux, pyloric stenosis. I was supplementing from super early on - he lost a lot of weight in the beginning. Whenever I pumped I got max 2 oz total. It was awful. I tried all the tricks to increase supply to no avail. I really hope things are way different this time around I hate buying formula!

I'm 15 weeks and feeling pretty good. I'm still really tired and wish I had more energy and I thought that would happen soon but not yet.

QOTW I had a terrible time breast feeding my son. There was no lactation support and we had to chase people down. My son dropped 10 percent of his birth weight in 2 days. I was upset and my son was too. I'm not even trying this time. I want that time in the hospital to be happy memories and not a stressful time.

24wks today, V-day! So excited to have made it to this point. I have my 24 wk appt on Monday and a growth ultrasound next Thursday do next week will be an exciting week.

QOTW: I bf ds till 14 months with no issues so I'm hoping to do the same with these two. I'm hoping my supply will be just fine as I did enjoy bfing.

I'm 10w1d. Last night was my last estr.ace and my last supp! WOOHOO!! We are invited to go swimming on Friday and I might actually be able to make it work without leaking everywhere!

QOTW: I did start BFing with DS, then his MSPI showed up at 6 wks. I ate 4 foods for 3 weeks and it didn't get better so we put him on the fancy formula. And then later went all the way up to Elecare. So I'll try with this one and cross my fingers that he/she is healthy. I honestly am in the camp where I don't feel guilty at all because he was healthy w/in 24 hours of switching, and he associated pain and miserableness with nursing. If the sibling shows signs of MSPI, I'm switching that day and not waiting 3 weeks to make him/her feel better.

I'm very early, 5 weeks tomorrow. EDD 4/16/15. My ultrasound is scheduled for 8/25. I'm still taking estradiol and progesterone 3 x daily. I don't feel pregnant and this doesn't seem real yet! It is hard to believe that it took 12 embryos over 5 transfers to get my twins and this pregnancy is from 1 single frozen embryo?!?

I did breastfeed the twins and it was a HUGE struggle! They were born 4 weeks early and really struggled with latching. They didn't learn how to correctly nurse until they were 10 & 14 weeks old. I struggled with supply also. After month 2, they were getting more than 50% of their feedings from formula. I really hope this is a healthy, full term singleton and that I can breastfeed 100%. I would like to nurse x 1 year.

Yay!!! Such good news today at my growth scan. They clearly identified the baby as a boy. Little stinker was just hiding. He had good growth and they are going to see me back for another growth scan in 4 weeks. I am feeling much bigger than I was at this point with A but they say I'm right on target.
QOTW: A had a hard time gaining weight the first few weeks and we had to supplement. It took the following few weeks of constant nursing to get my supply up to where we could exclusively nurse. We ended up going until 10 months at which time she decided she was done. It was hard but I loved the closeness I felt with her. I hope not to have the same challenges this time but will defintly BF of I can.
