First period after d&c **siggy warning**

I think I started my first period on Thursday, 3 weeks post d&c. I asked my midwife and doctor about it and they both said it could be my period, there's no real way of knowing.  My HCG levels were normal on August 1st at my follow up.

Anyhow, my question is about the actual period. I had 2 days of darker bleeding, and am now on day 4 of brighter red bleeding. What confuses me is, by evening it appears to have stopped, then come morning it seems heavier, by evening appears to stop again, though the past 2 days it seems a little less. 

It makes me think maybe this isn't my period, or are post d&c/mc periods just that wonky that anything can be "normal"?

Thanks. That's basically the answer I was looking for lol. Most of my periods in recent years have been on the pill, not many off to know my normal. Plus normally I use tampons so I think that must be messing me up. I normally don't see what's going on as much.

Cycles can change after a pregnancy. And especially the first one after a D&C can we weird. It sounds like it's your period to me.
