Teething

Sorry, I've been MIA! So forgive me if this has already been posted. But my LO is 3 months and has started teething! He has a couple bumps on his lower gums and he's showing the signs. I feel for the kid!
Anyone else have a baby starting to teeth so young?!

Re: Teething

  • No bumps yet but also showing all signs. DS1 did the same.

  • Not yet with this LO, but it started at 3 mos with DS1...I remember it well! But his first tooth didn't actually cut through until 5 months old. It is a long and not so fun process.

  • @ksyknelvr73‌ I feel like this is going to be a long process too.
    Ugh, poor baby!

  • DD has started with some serious drooling and noshing on her hands (and mine) but other than that, so far so good.
  • It's a long process...like 2 years long, lol ;)

I might've had a little celebration when DS's last molar broke thru :D

  • Teething is so hard on some babies. I had a little girl in my class and it was a nightmare for us. Can't imagine what it was at night for her parents :(

This is us, too. Drool everywhere! I feel like it's starting earlier than it did with DS1. With him, we thought he started showing signs of teething around 5 months. His first tooth didn't break through until 11 months!

  • Yes and DS has been a slobbery, miserable wreck even more than usual! His coordination to get teethers to his mouth aren't quite there yet, so I hold them for him and this helps.
  • My MIL commented that DD is teething, but I thought she was crazy. Sounds like teething can be a long process and can start as early as 3mos. I had no idea.
  • I think so. She's a slobbery mess, gums everything she can get to her mouth, and her gums have turned white and bumpy.

This is my DS.  The amount of drool that comes out of him is amazing and he's trying to naw on everything... even my nips while he is feeding.

Omg! My nips, he gnaws on them too! I'm dreading the actual teeth when they come in!

  • My LO has started teething and he isn't even 3 months old yet.... he has bumps on his gums and one that already feels kinda sharp.I tried finding him some teething toys but all the ones I saw where to big for him to fit comfortably in his mouth. He has been chewing on our fingers and his bottle nipple but gets upset when all he wants to do is chew on the nipple and milk comes out.
  • Yes we are just beginning.

    It's a BOY

  • My little guy will be 3 mths on the 30th, so it's a little too early, but he seems to have started. He is drooling a lot and is chewing on everything including my chin. It hurts!!! He is more irritable than usual, too. I'm sure he won't actually start cutting teeth for a while, but I guess the process has begun!
  • DD has been drooling a lot for the last couple weeks but now she is chewing on everything. She's not sleeping like she used to either. Any other BF moms have their LOs not want to nurse? I've tried to feed her twice today and she just screams. Gave her a bottle and she was fine. Maybe the nipple feels better on her gums?? I hope this passes soon

Same thing here! He doesn't want to seem to nurse at night and would rather a bottle. Plus he isn't sleeping as well as he used to. Of course I go back to work in 2 weeks. I better start going to bed at 8 if I want a decent sleep.

  • becole42 - Did you try to the orajel yet?  How did it work if you did?  I just picked up Orajel Baby yesterday because my little guy seems so miserable!  He's been extra cranky the last few days.
  • Orajel can numb their throat causing choking.

I hear Camilla is highly recommended along with teething tablets. Along with a frozen wash cloth and chew toys.
