Oh ffs my oldest just got dropped off here after her sleepover last night abd is already fighting with little sister. It's barely been five minutes. Maybe it's a good thing that school starts next week. These two are driving me bonkers!
@somerandomchick is right. I don't like the no offer part of this deal @econmama . Seems like they're trying to play you off against someone or just to hire you on the cheap after stating something different.
At any rate, more stress-relieving spinning for you!
@mrshudson618 hugs for your family today. I can't imagine.
@rondosa your flight story scares me, I am going to be in the same situation in a couple weeks.
Man, I usually don't get too worked up over celebrity deaths, but I am really sad about Robin Williams. Not just because I loved all his movies and other work, but the whole addiction/depression/suicide trifecta is just all too familiar to me and my heart hurts for him and his family.

@etoille Meryl Jane? Im loving the name Jane but it's my mother's name, so no.
In other news, one year appt reveals Maggie still has a murmur. ECHO scheduled for tomorrow. We were referred to some speech therapy too since she isn't speaking any words. That surprised me since she communicates well, has lots of baby garble spoken in conversational tone, no evidence of hearing problems or funny oral anatomy. Therapy seems overly aggressive to me. I may wait and see.
@mrshudson618 my thoughts and prayers are with your family.
Gah!
Chicago just emailed to ask if I could move before DH found something, which was the original understanding, and if my salary requirement are firm.
I'm about ready to tell them I'm not interested.
Seriously?
"on second thought, can we just pay you what we want to pay you and not what you already told us you wanted"?
They're certainly making your decision easier, eh?
Keenan has a fever. I left work early yesterday and gave him some Tylenol, when he proceeded to have a 3 hour nap. Wonderful, since he hasn't been sleeping well. He wouldn't go to sleep in his crib, so after 4 tries he came to our bed with me. Insisted on sleeping on my shoulder, and I don't sleep well when he does that. I slept maybe 11-12, tried to move him off of me and he was wide awake. DH got up with him until 2:30, when we traded and I was up from 2:30-5. Keenan finally went to sleep around 3:30 on the couch, it took me that long to get him back to our bed. Then he woke up at 6:30 with DH's alarm.
He's not terribly fussy, but how is he still operating on so little sleep? Luckily I work from home today (not that I'll probably get any work done) but I'm seriously dragging. I think a mommy and keenan nap is in order today!
@Audrey1787 the only thing that has me optimistic is that the murmur is loud. That suggests that the PFO and/or the VSD are much smaller. I hope one of them is closed.

Hopefully the ECHO goes well!
Feli isn't really saying anything yet either. Let's see what the Dr. at her 12 month appt says.
@KateJuly2013 I'm sorry about the heart murmur. I know the doctor made it sound like the chances of it resolving itself were pretty good And speech therapy at 1 seems kind of early to me.
All of this! >:D<

@KateJuly2013 Marnie had no words at 12mo (except 'buh' for dog). In fact, I think she *maybe* had two at 18mo? She definitely didn't hit the 50 word quota at 2 years.
I would wait until closer to 2yo before considering speech therapy. It's completely normal for a one year old to not say any words. We never did any intervention, and Marnie is speaking better, and more clearly, than her counterpart next door who spoke way earlier (except the stutter, which seems to be disappearing).
Therapy at 1yo seems like they're jumping the gun a little.
Good luck with everything else though! You definitely don't need any additional stress.
So the drama on my friend's BFing FB post continues. Some asshat said that "its called courtesy, sadly lacking in today's society.
I'm replying "You're right. There's a huge lack of courtesy towards nursing mothers because some people expect them to keep everything covered up 100% of the time while trying to nurse. If you're the one that's afraid of seeing something you should have some courtesy and put a blanket over your own face before expecting a mother to do that to her baby." And I go on to say that people shouldn't be so ignorant and judgmental.... yadda yadda yadda
I'm mostly worked up over this because this friend struggled with BFing her first and had to switch to formula at 3 months and it broke her heart. She worked fucking hard to BF her son and in 2 weeks she will have made it to a year. She doesn't need people like this in her life. And maybe I have some pregnancy rage...

You knew in the pit of your stomach that it wasn't the right move right now...so I am glad all worked out...I mean it's not like me or @Stina2012 could watch Pants while Jeans is born.
I have hit my personal quota of 4 expense reports done with a total of $2,000 coming back my way and ungodly thousands going to BOA.
I may push it and do one more...but this one is a complicated one with "missing receipts"...ah the agony.
It's been really slow in the store today, so I'm working on some Viking Helmet toques to sell (they're really popular). I just got Netflix working on the store computer and I am binge watching Star Trek TNG.
I haven't read the rest of this thread, I'm sorry for being a bad bumpie - and after this I'm re-banishing myself until Thursday --
I just got a call that our appointment with the new GI is being bumped up to this Friday morning. It was supposed to be next week.
I am incredibly excited to get this process started and hopefully find the support we need to work out a real, manageable long-term plan and stop muddling through and stabbing in the dark when it comes to his nutrition and growth.
I'll update when I can.

We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.
For 2 or 3 weeks, we've been working on the crib transition. DD sleeps around 830-1 am in her crib, then comes to bed or the mattress next to her crib with me.
The thing is, last night I am 99% sure she was in her crib when I fell asleep and I don't remember ever taking her out. I would remember because I would've debated trying to soothe her in the crib.
She was next to me this morning.
Did she climb out??
Abby did this until we said to heck with the crib! it's possible!

@KateJuly2013 and @LadyBlue07 - L had an echo about 3 months ago. She has PDA, but they are optimistic that it will resolve itself on its own or with the catheter procedure in a couple of years if it doesn't. It's super scary to have to go to the pediatric cardiologist, and I hope that it's nothing serious for either of your little ones. Hugs! >:D<

I'm baaack! Sort of.... My bump app is melting on me and hasn't let me log on in a couple of weeks. Life has been insane. After I got home from my grandmother's funeral, we got into a huge fight with my BIL and now we are looking to move out. This sucks because we were able to live here rent-free (we still pay all expenses and property taxes), which is why I was able to work part-time. Looks like someone needs to find a new full-time job. I'm dreading it, but we can't live here anymore. It is more stressful to continue to live with my BIL than it is to find our own place.
I finally was able to log on the computer, but as luck would have it DS decided today was his 20 minute nap day I don't know how you mama's who log in on the laptop do it? DS is demanding to bang on the keyboard as we speak! Its going to be a loooong day.....
To all of the mama's the need hugs and sleep, ~O) >:D<
The funeral was surprisingly not very sad. Partially because my cousin is really keeping it together, and didn't cry once during the visitation last night, or this morning, or the funeral itself.(I really hope she is going to go home and just let it all out, or that she did over the weekend). It is also partially because the Catholic Church does not actually say funeral Masses for children. The regular funeral Mass is very solemn, with sad songs and tolling bells and all that, but is mostly full of prayers FOR the dead person. (Because Catholics believe in Purgatory, we believe that the dead are still able to benefit from our prayers)
When a child dies, instead of the funeral Mass being said, the "Mass of the Angels" is offered for the parents, which is just one of the variations of the regular Sunday Mass.
When a young child dies we can know with 100% certainty that they are in Heaven, so the Church encourage a more upbeat Mass, and there is no need to pray FOR the child, just for those left behind. It was definitely different than any funeral I had gone to.
