Hey ladies! At a conference for work and not sure when I'll get a chance to post tomorrow, so figured I'd just post a little early tonight! I'm mobile this week so this is an informal check-in, sorry I can't post the full version. Let us know how you're doing, any news, updates, etc. If you're new include your EDD and how many weeks you are.

Re: ***Tuesday Ticker Change Check-in***

  • 16 weeks, avacados....

feeling good, eating more- hope to get my weight gain on track for twinsies....

Co worker did an u/s at work for me and caught one girl sucking her thumb, also watched poor baby with hiccups.... so cute! anywho, that keeps peace of mind.

Have an appointment Thursday, will ask questions about when going for a/s, and if closer monitoring is merited, may try to get cervix check for length due to the cramping (which is probably nothing) excited to be this far, almost past my milestone!  My cousin is coming in to town tomorrow/ tonight, and my sister is coming in Thursday night/ Fri morning- we will all join the big family camping trip in MI for the weekend :-) Looking forward to that!

I don't know that big, hairy, ugly spiders is something irrational to be afraid of.  I also am choosing not to go see the latest Tornado drama adventure action flick to come out, as I live in the Midwest.  I would have gone to see it when I lived in Denver- but again, is that irrational? hmm... or sanity sparing ?

  • 22 weeks -- papaya (another ticker said large banana)!

Doing pretty well; belly is so sore by the end of the day so likely growth spurt time! Also, SO felt the baby move for the first time last night! He's been trying for weeks but was only really able to feel my pulse; but he finally felt her/him rolling around against his hand. His smile was so cute!

Irrational fear - I'm actually pretty superstitious; completely changed my driving route one time to avoid a black cat that was crossing the road. I don't walk under ladders, I cringe when I see an open umbrella inside and broken mirrors... ugh!

Things are going well.  I saw my OB yesterday and mentioned that I continued to have cramping when I was being not so good about water intake.  She said, ok, well let's check in on your cervix anyway - I didn't argue.  Everything still looks good in cervix land, so she said yes, probably still your fluid intake, aim for 3L per day.  3L of water seems like an awful lot.  She then told me it should not affect my bladder because my body would absorb it.  Uh, lady you are nuts, as drinking 3L of fluid most certainly does affect how much I pee.  **side-eye, where did you get your medical degree....?**

We registered this week!  And bought the crib!  Squeeeee and Eeeek!  I'm so excited that we're getting close to the third trimester, but the reality of taking home a baby is starting to sink in.  So I'm a big ol' jumbled mess of joy, excitement and terrified.

Irrational non-pg fear - spiders and bugs, ew, just ew, ew, ew.

@rox825  I hope your conference is a fun/interesting one and not one of the fall asleep in your chair types!

@Bigboneded Where are you camping in MI?  I was raised in West MI and just love it there!

@meagpt22 ((hugs)) hopefully the fingersticks and A1c come back with positive news.  Did they give you a heads up that the parts of the test you were able to complete were pointing towards a GD diagnosis?

I'm feeling ok, but heartburn is starting to give me a hard time. I never realized what a sloucher I am, and how nice it is to lie all the way down to sleep, until I couldn't do it anymore.

Also pregnancy brain is going in full force. Yesterday I put my groceries in someone else's cart, and I agreed to a shower date and only realized days later that I'm already going to a wedding that day. When the semester starts up again next week I'm afraid I'm going to be the really really absent-minded professor.

QOTW: clowns give me the creeps in a big way.

@meagpt22 I'm sorry you have to do all that extra testing. I hope it turns out you don't have GD after all.

@bigboneded hooray for seeing your LOs! And sorry about the cramps. If I drink tons of water, that helps me if I have cramps.

@MrsTuna08‌ yay for registering and buying the crib! That's exciting! I finished my registry and I realized I'm nervous about people seeing it. Not sure why...?

@haleyusf your superstitions confession made me smile. I hope it isn't actually stressful to you. I definitely throw a little salt over my shoulder when I spill it, but I still adore black cats. :)

  • I'm 17 weeks the size of an onion.

Doing pretty good for the most part some minor aches and pains but nothing major.
My PgAL brain is bad right now the closer I get to 20 weeks the more I over analyze everything.

I'm enjoying watching my DH getting excited. He has been all over my tummy since I told him I felt the baby move.

I am so ready for the 25th so that I know everything is good with the baby!

Non pregnant fear... snakes and lizards!
  • 16 weeks, avocado

I haven't had a great week as far as PGAL brain. It feels like I've been having cramping near my cervix for awhile and thought it would just go away on it's own, but it hasn't.  I ended up calling the nurse advice line and she said it's probably nothing to worry about, that the cervix doesn't actually have nerve endings, and that it could be a bladder infection maybe.  I have an appointment with my Dr. on Thursday anyway and she said I should definitely bring it up then.

Then, this weekend, I had a dream that my baby died, but I still had to go to work and then tell everyone about it. It was awful.  I woke up and started panicking before I realized it was just a dream. I'm hoping that my appointment on Thursday will help ease some of my fears.

MH has started rubbing my belly and it's really sweet. It could be because I keep asking him if my stomach it starting to look more like baby and less like fat though.

My irrational fear: People in costumes and mask over their face (like mascots). It's not quite a real fear, but it just makes me feel really, really uncomfortable.

  • @rox825 I hope the conference goes well and that it’s interesting.

@bigboneded Have fun on your camping trip! I’m glad you got a nice peek at your girls. J

@meagpt22 I’m sorry you have to stick your finger so much, but I hope it ends up that you don’t have GD.  I’m assuming they’re going to show you how to use it.  Just a tip- it usually hurts less if you go towards the side of your finger, not directly in the center.

@haleyusf Yay for SO feeling the baby move!

@mrstuna08 Yay for registering! So exciting!

@megbmeg I’m sorry that heartburn is so bad right now. Yuck.

@elysa15 Stupid PGAL brain. It’s so fun to see our SO get so excited.

  • I'm 28 weeks and realizing that I only have 12 to go is freaking me out in a mostly good way! Haven't gotten my glucose test results yet, they said Mon or Tues so I'll call tomorrow if I haven't heard. People are starting to buy things from our registries which is exciting!

@meagpt22 sorry you have to do all of the finger pricking, hope it all comes back normal though!

My fear is flying, I hate it, airplanes terrify me. I refuse to not travel because of it so I do it anyway, but I'm convinced every time that something bad will happen.

  • 7 weeks today: a blueberry!

Feeling tired, still bloated, sore boobs, and this summer heat is killing me for some reason.  With DD, I was in 3rd tri in the summer heat so I thought 1st tri in the summer would be easier but it's not!

First OB appt is tomorrow so I'm excited and anxious at the same time.  Luckily DH will be there to help me wrangle DD.  Really hoping to get a good heartbeat and u/s!

Non-pregnancy irrational fear: I don't know if you'd call it irrational but I'd never bungee jump or skydive.

  • 17 weeks - onion.

Feeling decent with good days here and there. Still pretty tired, still go to bed pretty early. The heartburn is still coming on strong but the headaches seem to be less frequent. I think my belly is finally popping out and is actually baby and not just the bloat I have been sporting. I feel baby move pretty much every day so this really helps with things.

I am really excited about our appointment next week and to find out what we are having. I am really interested to see how I will react when we find out. I am finally starting to feel like I can start researching things and looking into actually planning to bring this baby home which feels great but extremely scary at the same time.

Non-pregnancy irrational fear: I too hate flying although I love to travel. So travel for me is full of xanax or cocktails. I have to travel to and from a wedding a little vacation at 25 and 27 weeks and I am dreading the flying.

Me too! I was dreading flying this week sans xanax so my dr told me to take a benadryl instead. Not the same!!

  • rox825 – I hope that your conference goes well. Thanks for the check in! FX you get good results from your glucose test.

Bigboneded – That is so nice that your coworker can do ultrasounds! I would love to be able to do that. I hope you have a great camping trip.

meagpt22 – I am so sorry that you are having such a rough time getting decent results from a glucose test. I hope that you don’t find the finger pricks too horrible.

haleyusf – That is so awesome SO finally got the feel the baby! I am very excited for when that time rolls around for us.

MrsTuna08 – Yay for registering and getting a crib! That is super exciting! Drinking enough water is so hard. I have to really think about it every day and force myself to drink a ton. I get horrible headaches if I don’t though so that’s pretty good motivation for me.

megbmeg – A friend of mine who was pregnant with twins last year swears by a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar for heartburn. I have yet to try it myself but she says she still uses it to this day.

Elysa15 – I am right there with you, my appointment is the 22nd. I am ready to be past that appointment and hear the baby is healthy and get to move on from there.

luciddreamer106 – Sorry that you are having cramping, I hope they get it figured out.

SpartyKim – Good luck at your first appointment tomorrow. Sending lots of T&P your way!

  • A little 7wk blueberry today.

The all day hangover that is morning sickness has fully kicked in and the only thing staying down is carbs. For lunch I had mashed potatoes with a biscuit, thankfully I kept most of my fruit/veggie breakfast smoothie down this morning to balance that. I have a consult with a new midwife group and 8wk ultrasound with our RE next week and the minutes sure are moving slow.

My fear is all things creepy crawly!

    30 weeks - Cucumber! ;;) EDD: 10/21

Hyperemesis is still in full effect... :-& Back in the ER this past Saturday. 8-| BUT I was able to finally take the Glucose Test yesterday, which I passed! >:D< The lovely heartburn and acid reflux continues throughout the day, but I'm doing my best to stay hydrated and away from the ER. 10 more weeks...

As for my little trouble-maker, she is doing great! All snuggled in and growing like a weed.
    :x

Non-pregnancy-related irrational fear? Clowns... snakes... unsanitary food establishments (that's probably the scariest of them all)... stepping in animal puke in the middle of the night on my way to the bathroom (that may sound pregnancy-related, but trust me, it's-all-the-time related)...

haleyusf - I try my best to keep a sense of humor about it... but it's a challenge. I mean, 5 years of trying wasn't hard enough... now this.  /:)  But it HAS gotten better. I've gone from maybe half a good day a week to at least one bad day a week. I can see the finish line now though! :)
