R: I'm really excited about my new electric toothbrush from Costco. Like nerdy excited. Does this mean I'm old and boring?

AW: I had sex last night and it was seriously the best it's been since before kids.

V: my hard wood floors are always dirty. I'm debating being a shoe free house, but I'm not sure it would make a difference.

R - I cannot believe school starts in 3 weeks!

AW - I have managed to get a ridiculous amount done around the house, despite having a million things to do today (including tennis and swim lessons).

V - It is going to be over 100* here today and I am over the summer weather.  I need jeans, sweaters, and cozy comfort food in my life, not chasing after DD2 while DD1 is having her tennis lesson in 90* at 11am.

Random: Why the hell has Sofie the Giraffe become so expensive?  I was in a store today and flipped it over just to see what the asking price was, $25.50!  We already have three so seriously I don't care, but 4 years ago when I was pregnant with DD I had never even seen one, pretty soon people are going to be including them in their wills!

AW:  DD's birthday party was this weekend.  The theme was CandyLand and it turned out so cute if I do say so myself!  Perfect weather, perfect turnout, zero meltdowns, food was great, just perfect day!

Vent:  When I asked DD what her favorite part of the day was she said, "Going to Old McDonalds" All that work getting her party organized and her favorite part was before the party when she had lunch at McDonalds!  That will learn me!  At least we all had a good time!

R: My mom is here for today and tomorrow. I'm enjoying her cooking for us as she is a really good cook.

Aw: DD is over 8lbs. She has put on a pound and a half in the two weeks since she was born.

Aw: DS smiled so big and kept smiling when he saw that Grandma was here.

We have a shoe-free house and I don't think it really helps.  It's more crumbs that seem to get us.

AW- my mom called and offered to take Z for 4 days, 3 nights so we could move and get stuff set up at the new place. She also made me promise DH and I would have a date night one of the nights and enjoy a couple kid free days

Random: I cannot believe the summer is nearly over.  Most of my teacher friends go back in two weeks, and I am realizing that we never made good on our plans to get together. 

AW:  DD has finally started saying "Mama"  Granted, to most people it sounds like "Baba" and it is usually only when she is crying, but it is directed at me, so I am taking it.

Vent: I asked DH to please let me know when he is running late.  There is nothing worse than expecting the day to nearly be over, and then having that time extended without warning.  He is 45 minutes late and just texted me to let me know that he is still at work.  Let me know when you think you are going to run late, not when you are already 45 minutes late.  I just threw paper on the floor and let the kids rip it to shreds.  It has kept them quiet.

Random: I spent the boys' naptime at the dentist so I've been "on" pretty much all day. It was not bad at all, though....and the day actually flew by. Of course, now I need to work and don't want to....

AW: L can count to 10! He doesn't do it on his own, but when we count things together he anticipates the next number and starts saying it before I do.

V: Another rainy day....and of course the boys get stir-crazy so I decide to make a run to Meijer for milk and some craft supplies. I decided to take getting wet over stir crazy. At least it wasn't as bad as the day I got completely drenched when I had to pick up my mom. :P

Followup on my vent: It is still raining like a mother-effer....all kinds of people are complaining on FB about flooding....DH is out in it now (working late). I just checked our basement and thank God it isn't flooding.....I did look out our little emergency exit window to see a small frog just chilling on the sill....

R: I just realized that DS1 starts kindergarten in three-ish weeks.  I don't know which day he starts, and I'm not entirely sure how to spell kindergarten all the time.  I waver on T versus D and it drives me nuts.  We did open enrollment into a different district, and they've been slow on the paperwork...

AW: I took all the kids shoe shopping at once.  No one died. Win.

V: I met XH and his new girlfriend for dinner with the kids because it was Emme's second birthday yesterday.  She is such a fricking pansy ass it drives me bananas.  Like, the restaurant was Rainforest café in the MOA...she was scared of the thunder.  The fake thunder. In the fake rainforest.  And she wore stillettos. That drives me bananas just on principle, its a two year old's birthday party...sigh. 

ETA: the girlfriend is the pansy...not my two year old.

My poor sister got stranded in a dangerous part of town (Highland Park) after driving through a flooded street, waited three hours in her car (terrified) for a tow truck, and came home to find 5 inches of water and sewage in her finished basement. Flood insurance is a separate rider which she does not have My vent is looking kind of petty at this point.

That suuuucks!!! Your poor sister! My FB last night was all Robin Williams and flooded basement pics....pretty depressing. DH's Gma has 18 inches of water in her basement

2 of my sisters were driving in last night too....took them an extra hour but I was just so thankful they didn't get stuck in the flood. There were stories about people ditching their cars and walking home from work....so crazy!
