Hi everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself.
Me - 30, no children, TTC for 6 months, diagnosed with dual Hydrosalpinx in 2012
Husband - 30, 1 son (7 yrs old), no history of fertility testing
I just wanted to say hello to everyone. I'm finally ready to join a community and get the ball rolling.
I got an HSG in 2012 that supposedly showed both tubes blocked, but I got conflicting information from the tech and the Dr doing the test (tech said only 1 tube was blocked, Dr said both were blocked).
Since marriage, I've joined my husband's insurance (Kaiser) and they are going to redo all tests and add some more.
Since I got the news of the hydropsalpinx, I stalked the internet for any type of solution. I've even been so brave as to make my own organic herbal tampons with Chinese herbs that I ordered and combined myself. I've been taking serrapaptase and I just added Cinnamon and Poria. I bought vitamin pills on sale from FertiBella as well. And I'm doing abdominal massage, and the castor oil packs. Hopefully I'll start seeing the accupuncturist this month as well. First pap test since the herbal tampons shows no infection or other areas for concern (which I guess is a good thing).
I guess I really just wanted to exhaust all of my options "naturally" before I accept the fact that I may have to consider IVF, and it may actually be my only option. LUCKILY I live in a state where fertility insurance coverage is mandatory, so that will provide us some financial help. Also, it seems that our fertility center which partners with Kaiser (Shady Grove Fertility) seems to be pretty top notch. They have a webcast that basically steps you through the IVF process in GREAT detail. I'm not sure why I thought IVF was basically injecting an egg with sperm and hoping for the best once you put it back in the uterus (smh myown notions amaze me sometimes HA!). At any rate, I now view IVF doctors more like the highly trained scientists that they are ... AND the webcast has given me a much greater sense of calm and confidence in the process (I suggest anyone that is kinda new like me go look at it (https://www.myeventpartner.com/SGFConline/E950DD838947) and hopefully it will give you more hope, understanding, anf confidence in the process as well.
Anyway, I get a new HSG done on Monday, let's see if the second time is a charm.
Thanks so much for listening to my story, and good luck and baby dust to you all on your journies!

Hi @ronniesgirl1981 !!! Thanks so much for the warm welcome!
I'll most likely be going to the Columbia MD office, and GBMC for the transfer procedures. I've very excited because the Columbia location is within walking distance from my job, and from what I've been reading, I'll be making FREQUENT visits there so I'm just so glad its so close!
Which one are you going to?

Even though I haven't had success in the year that I've been a patient, I am overall happy with it. It runs like a super well-oiled machine.
