Pregnant after IF

Lurker from IF Board: Question about Beta #

Hi everyone, I'm pretty active on 3T and IF, but I'm doing a bit of lurking here as I have a question about Betas. I just went through IVF#1.2 and feel extremely blessed to have my first beta come back at 1867 (first positive in my whole life). My nurse seemed ecstatic, but I'd like to see from the experiences here. What were your initial betas like? I know they say a beta can be too low, can one be too high?? I'm so used to being cautions (or paranoid, take your pick) regarding good news with IF in general. Should I read anything into this number, or nothing at all?

Thanks in advance for your responses! :)

Re: Lurker from IF Board: Question about Beta #

  • I've never heard of a beta being too high, but i understand the paranoia. CONGRATS!

  • As far as I know, no such thing as a too high a # for beta. Although my 1st beta came back at around 1400 and by the 1st u/s it showed twins. (1eventually didn't make it). I know that it could go either way for but u could have more than 1 with high beta #. Either way, Congrats!

  • Thank you for your responses!!! It puts my mind at ease. My beta was 14dp5dt (20 days after my trigger), which I think is pretty late for beta standards. So that might explain that it is higher for Beta #1. I'm not too worried about multiples, as we only transferred one blast on day 5.
  • Good beta! Congratulations!

  • At first I thought whoa that's high but at 14dp5dt I think that sounds great!!! I've only gotten bfp from FETs , and only two early betas. My betas were a lot stronger this time with FET #2, at 9dp5dt it was 260 and doubling at approx 43 hours

  • Awesome beta, congrats!!

It may seem high compared to a lot of betas that are on these boards, but most betas are taken a lot earlier... my first two betas in my siggy were at 10dp5dt and 12dp5dt so both before your first beta. As long as it's doubling, it's healthy! Congrats!!!
