Monday Bitchfest

Re: Monday Bitchfest

  • It makes me sooo furious when someone gives you an estimate timeline and they are off (by a lot). Followed up (for the 4th time) with BBB on our crib status. We ordered it in late June. It was set to arrive in early to mid September. Well, I've been checking in with them so they can let me know when it will ship and after delaying and delaying, they let me know today that it will be here now early to mid October. Oh and you can't cancel and get a refund? Nice. She didn't seem sympathetic.. just a simple... oh well... that's how it is.  [-X
@justaudrey, I would call and ask to speak to a manager. BBB usually has great customer service. If you can get to a store and talk to someone in person, that will probably be even better.

  • I think I have met every OB in the office. They are all rude as hell and the nice ones have quit. I can't wait for this baby to get here so I don't have to deal with them. DH has got to the point where he dreads going to my apts. We don't even bother asking questions anymore. I feel like it's too late to change now w/ 5-8 weeks left.

So, last Thursday, I got an EOB from my insurance, and it said NONE of my labs were covered. This was for the GD test, and I'm past my deductible, so why wouldn't it have been covered?

I called BCBS, and it turns out they feel my provider (hospital) has been billing me wrong this whole time. Even the time I went to the ER. So they have to submit ALL new claims.

I don't know what this means. It could mean I owe MORE money. But I guess I have to call BCBS for EVERY SINGLE BILL to check? I'm not going to be able to do that come October, and I"m really feeling overwhelmed about it. Plus, I've been making payments this whole time on like 5 separate bills from the hospital. If they show that something should have been paid in full by insurance, where did my money go? That will be another fight I have to have with the hospital.

I just don't know if I can do it, and I'm considering just paying it and I'm sorry I ever even asked. I know how stupid that sounds. I'm just exhausted and I hate phone calls and I don't understand insurance lingo. The BCBS lady tried like 6 times to explain to me things, and I just don't understand what that means. I kept saying "so do I keep paying or not?" and I still don't understand, so just in case, I'll keep paying, I guess. I do have everything saved, so I can go back and show what I've paid on each bill, should something come back that I should have owed zero or I've overpaid. It's just. Too fucking much.

They "feel" like your provider is billing wrong? Do they know for sure??

I would start with your provider and their office. I work for a large medical practice and they do all the wheeling and dealing with my insurance company so I don't have to.

Can your practice do that work for you? If they in fact have been billing your insurance wrong, they should be working to fix it.

That really blows though dude, I'm sorry :(

They were definitely billed wrong--but they don't know how wrong. The hospital is resubmitting everything right now. Once that happens, I figure I'll have to call them and see what to do about the bills--did I overpay? Pay when I should have owed nothing (someone said I should owe NOTHING for several pregnancy-related labs--and this is why I called in the first place, they weren't covering ANYTHING on my labs, and I called crying, saying "I'm pregnant, I needed these tests, they weren't elective, and it was through someone in network" and the lady on the phone was awesome and found several errors on several bills, called the hospital, and now the hospital is resubmitting everything)? I just don't know how it will all go, but it's not just labs they were getting wrong--it was my ER visit, too, so now, I guess every bill I get from the hospital, I just call BCBS and tell them to walk through it with me to make sure it's right?

That's a pain in the ass. I'm so pissed I have to do it.

I have an appointment Thursday, and in two weeks after that another ultrasound. I'm going to tell EVERYONE at next visits that I have XXXX insurance, please double check it because everything's been billed wrong. It might do nothing, but at least I can try.

  • @lilmissfancy‌ I just saw my new Dr for the first time today, and I love her! I'm 30 weeks as of yesterday, my opinion is don't stay where you're not happy with the OB's!! Get a better Dr! It's worth it to have someone you like and respect delivering your baby. ;)
