I am new to the whole IUD thing. I am meeting my new gyno (totally distraught over my gyno who delivered LO has left the insurance network) next week and am so confused at this point which to do. Please enlighten me on what your experience has been with them. I have super bad menstrual headaches, periods that are super heavy and clotty and really bad PMS since having LO. I was taking sprintec BCP. It made me super bitchy and can't remember to take it at all, even setting an alarm on my phone didnt' work. I really like the idea of switching it out every 5yrs and not worrying about a BCP, plus insurance covers 100%, bonus!!
Re: IUD's
I didn't have a great experience once I stopped breast feeding, the hormones were too much for me (I had the Mirena). I got mine removed and while I am back to crippling periods, I have lost almost 15 lbs and am back to my sunshine personality

But mostly, the hormones made me feel distant from my family which I hated. But everyone responds to hormones differently
