Recommend your sheets...

So I'm pretty good at getting good deals on good quality items. Shoes, purses, jeans, etc. But I can't buy sheets. I just bought 1600 thread count from Overstock and their awful, scratchy, just yuck. What should I be looking for? Is this the kind of thing you go to Macy's for? Help me buy good sheets but not break the bank.

Re: Recommend your sheets...

  • I read somewhere that at some point thread count doesn't... count. so I think something around 600 thread count is just as good as 1200 or 1600 thread count.

we only have two sets of sheets because most of the time, we're just rotating if we even use them at all (I prefer my down comforter and duvet, even in LA) and we got Calvin Klein on gilt, ruelala, or Macy's on sale. I also like west elm, they always have sales and free shipping.

  • I've had the same problem @EMarieMe I've bought some real garbage sheets that were 1200 thread count-- it really is about the quality of the cotton and the finish. We got a great set for our wedding and had I known at the time how much I'd like them, I would've bought 5 more sets. I believe they're around 600 thread count but a really soft, sateen finish. I'm pretty sure they were from Macy's but I don't know the brand. I believe they were in the $150-$200 range for king. I realize that doesn't exactly answer your question but maybe it gives you some numbers to work with.
