I can't believe Tuesday is just 2 days away! We were matched with expectant mom on March 3rd and have experienced most of her pregnancy right alongside her. Tuesday she's going in for induction. The emotions are running deep already, I can't imagine what this week is going to bring! Expectant mom and I have become very close, I will be in the delivery room with her while my husband waits in the family waiting area. I wish I knew what those 72 hours are going to be like so we could prepare ourselves. Any advice?
We had a long match with a close relationship. We followed our son's mom's lead at the hospital. And that said, there were huge chunks of time that she wanted to be alone with her family and her son. We didn't have a room at the hospital, so we only came up to the maternity floor as invited and we left every night and stayed a hotel. We made sure to take care of each other. If you are in a town nearby to yours, I'd suggest having a friend on standby for coffee or dinner etc. The one thing I wanted more than anything else was someone other than my husband to talk to.
Thanks ladies! I think I'll take your advice and just go with the flow at the hospital. Expectant mom is allowing us to be in and out of her room, although at night she wants to sleep alone, so if the hospital has room we can stay there, otherwise they have a place on the hospital campus that we can stay at, so we won't be far. I would assume she wants some alone time as well, so we will probably step out for lunch and dinner. Do those 72 hours go by slow or fast? Did the expectant mom get released before baby or at the same time?
