Cradle cap

What's the best way to get rid of cradle cap?

I don't know if this is much help but I used a massage oil by Earth Baby Angel Mama after bath time on LO.  I would also brush his hair after his baths.  Both helped prevent cradle cap so I never actually had to treat it.  The massage oil says it helps with cradle cap though.

  • With DD I used a fine tooth comb to comb it all out. For DS the doctor said to use baby oil and a brush.
  • My pedi said to use Selsun blue if the oil didn't work.

  • Coconut oil has been working great for us. I put it on a couple hours before bath time, then brush it through and wash it out. Has worked for us every time so far
  • Our pediatrician recommends switching to Aveeno, and it works like a charm!

  • I tried the fine tooth comb, oil, mustela and then my pedi suggested sebulex.  It contains sulfur and salicylic acid.  We used it a couple times and it made a huge difference.  We were then able to maintain with just the mustela.

This.  I tried all the typical oil/brushing, other products including dandruff shampoo and MUstela foam shampoo was the best.  It worked nearly immediately

  • I just massage his scalp with a warm washcloth very gently and then shampoo like normal.  When his hair is semi dry I comb out all the chunks/flakes.  Only the bits that are ready to come off will come up this way, so its a slow process.  I tried baby oil and a brush with no good results.
