Symptoms: heartburn, nausea, belly feels really heavy at the end of the day and it's getting harder to be active. Also difficulty sleeping still (very unlike with dd; with her I sttn until 37 weeks). I was hoping this was a phase, but I think it's really what this pregnancy is going to be like.
AW/Appointments: I have an appt tomorrow. I'll let you know if anything comes up. I know I'll get my drink for the gd test, and then will come back in 2 weeks to actually do it.
Also, tomorrow DH is having a procedure done on his back to help with his pain, as well as to more specifically identify what nerves are being impacted by scar tissue. He doesn't do very well with the sedation from these procedures, so we would appreciate your prayers.
GTKY: I loved the Harry the Dog books as a kid. I have "Harry the Dirty Dog" to read to DD. And when I taught preschool I loved reading "White Snow, Bright Snow" to my classes. It was so peaceful.

Symptoms: mid back pain, frequent heartburn, generally feeling whalish most of the time
AW/Appointments: found out I passed the GD test which I was happy about
GTKY: What is one of your favorite children's books? So many to count- the giving tree, the rainbow fish,the very hungry caterpillar to name a few
Symptoms: A few annoyances in the hip and pelvic area, but I can't complain.
AW/Appointments: Good MW appt last week... 2 hour glucose test soon... not much else!
GTKY: What is one of your favorite children's books?
For little babies: Pat the Bunny. It is amazing how quickly they "get" that book.
Symptoms: Belly that moves like a lava lamp, probably beginnings of heartburn, occasional hip pain, noticing I'm not moving as quickly or efficiently while I'm teaching dance (ugh)
AW/Appointments: Got to see our little girl last Thursday! She's getting super cute.
GTKY: What is one of your favorite children's books? I LOVE children's books of all kinds. I really love Sandra Boynton's board books, though. They're super cute and funny so I never minded reading them over and over to the boys I babysat for. I also really love Mo Willems and his pigeon books like Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus.
Symptoms: tired, hip pain, heartburn, my ears feel like they have water in them, constant peeing
AW/Appointments: nothing till next week
GTKY: What is one of your favorite children's books? I will love you forever, where the wild things are
Symptoms: exhausted, back aches, and heartburn at night.
AW/Appointments: no appointments til the end of the month. I'm trying to get back in the swing of things since my BIL's death 2 weeks ago and we just got back in town from my family vacation/ "baby moon" but it was not the celebration that I envisioned it to be. This is still very raw and my husband continues to struggle which is all very hard. I go back to work tomorrow and I'm excited to get back into normal routine!
GTKY: What is one of your favorite children's books? My favorite book as a child was "Mimi the Circus Cat" it was an old book that my grandma used to read to my dad when he was little. I am disappointed because I have looked and looked and can't find it anywhere!
Symptoms: nothing much at this point, but I'm finally able to tolerate soda again, so I may be able to get my caffeine fix when I really need it
AW/Appointments: I had an appointment last week, and everything looked and sounded good. I also took the 1 hour glucose test, so I should probably get the results sometime this week. My next appointment is the first week of September, which should be crazy busy since my kids will be starting school, and I have a million things to do relating to that.
GTKY: What is one of your favorite children's books? pretty much anything by Dr. Seuss and also the Pete the Cat books
Weeks/EDD: 26 weeks 11/18
Symptoms: my feet and legs are swollen, my belly is huge!!! I think I'm gonna pop like a balloon by November. It feels like my ribs are tearing away from my sternum.
AW/Appointments: sugar test Thursday and another ultrasound. Tried to get out of going every month to high risk doctor but nooooo.
GTKY: What is one of your favorite children's books? I love you stinky face. My kids love my awesome book reading skills and voices I do.
Symptoms: It really hasn't been too bad this week. Some painful baby jabs (I think I might know what lightning crotch is now) and still some acid reflux, but super mild. I'm lucking out. For the past month I wake up between 4 and 6 to pee and then am typically up for the morning. It's awesome.
AW/Appointments: No upcoming appointments until next month. I will AW and complain. AW first. We had a follow up anatomy scan last week and it was awesome. She was moving like a little baby, smacking her lips and playing with her fingers. Oh, it just melted our hearts and got us so excited! I'm going to attach my u/s scan as well because it's the first decent one we've gotten (I have abdominal scarring that has thwarted all other attempts!)
GTKY: What is one of your favorite children's books? I have memories of reading The Cat in the Hat Comes Back over and over and over and over again when learning how to read. I even wrote initials on every other page for me to read one and my sister read the next, etc. When I was a little older there was a series about a fox that I cannot find again for the life of me but I LOVED checking them out of the library!
Symptoms: Some pelvic pain. Maybe RLP didn't have this with previous pregnancy so I'm not sure but I hurt along the left side of my bump nearly every day. Not sleeping well at night which equals tired.
AW/Appointments: No appt till the end of the month which will include my glucose tolerance test.
GTKY: What is one of your favorite children's books? It's too hard to name just one. The pokey little puppy, I'll love you for always, children's storybook Bible, and the Bernstein bears
Symptoms: Tired and not sleeping well, feeling big and just getting over another cold. I can watch the baby move now, I love it
AW/Appointments: Only DS appt's this week, gluecose test for me next week.

Weeks/EDD: 26 weeks 11/17
Symptoms: My belly is annoyingly huge. Sleeping is a chore. Back pain and heel pain.
AW/Appointments: This wednesday is my 26 week appt. and my 1 hour glucose test. Not sure, but I imagine I will only have one more monthly appt. before the 2 week ones start. That is just CRAZY.
GTKY: What is one of your favorite children's books? The Baby Unicorn. I read this thing so many times. I also like the Bernstein Bears books.

11/3 - 28 weeks
I have a little bit of back pain and I've been a bit more tired than usual. On the plus side my heartburn seems to have subsided a bit.
I've got my glucose screening this afternoon, which I'm not looking forward to. I feel like I'm going to fail. Which is weird because I'm in great shape and not at all at risk, but I've had such a sweet tooth during this entire pregnancy and I've been eating a lot of fruit and drinking a lot of Vitamin Water so I think I've probably undone any good that being in shape will do :P
My favorite children's book is "I'll Love You Forever". I remember singing it with my mom when I was growing up and it was perfect. I hope that I get it at my next shower (MIL is doing a book-card shower) so that I don't have to send DH out while I'm in labor because I NEED the book immediately when the baby arrives. LOL!
Symptoms: Stronger kicks!
AW/Appointments: Re: the aforementioned cold, DH got it Wed, I got it Thursday, we spent the whole weekend sick. Pregnant women shouldn't be allowed to get sick. Aren't we going through enough? / This Thursday is my next appt! Glucose test!

Weeks/EDD: 24 weeks / November 30. My rainbow baby reached the 24 week viability milestone!
Symptoms: Braxton Hicks, heartburn, bleeding gums and bloody noses.
AW/Appointments: Saw my OB on Wednesday and received official results from 20 week ultrasound. Baby is perfectly healthy! They did find a large uterine fibroid on the scan that they are going to monitor with a few more ultrasounds. My OB said the size and location of this fibroid definitely increases my chances of requiring a C-section but after hearing confirmation that our baby is healthy I am not even phased by that possibility.
Weeks/EDD: 27 weeks, 1 day- November 9th
Symptoms: Not sleeping very well, some mild heartburn, frequent urination (probably not helping the sleeping). LO is moving lots though, so that's exciting.
AW/Appointments: I had an OB appointment last week and she said my weight was on track, so I was happy with that. She had the results of my 20 week u/s (yes, pretty late) and apparently my placenta is a little low, but I'll just have another u/s later on to check up on it. She ordered my GD test, so I'll go for that in the next couple weeks.
GTKY: What is one of your favorite children's books? It's too hard to pick just one! I love books so so much and I actually have a lot of my books from when I was a child. A few of my favourites were Love you Forever, any of the Bearnstein Bears, Secret Garden, Shel Silverstein. I was actually hoping that MIL and SIL would do books instead of cards for my shower- I don't care if the baby shower board thinks it's tacky!
Symptoms: Heartburn, aka hairy-baby syndrome. It's been a good predictor for me before, so hopefully this little girl will have at least a few hairs on her head. Poor DD2 was totally bald and constantly being called a boy even in the frilliest outfit.
AW/Appointments: Failed the 1 hour, no news on the 2 hour, although my OB said she'd only call if the results were abnormal. Otherwise no news is good news. Next apt is the 26th and I think after that will be every 2 weeks!
GTKY: What is one of your favorite children's books - All time favorite to read to my kids is "Love You Forever". It took me several weeks to be able to read it to my first without tearing up because I remember my mom reading it to us.

Symptoms: More kicking. Pains come and go. I had this weird back pain when I breathed deeply but it went away recently! Now I have knee pain, but I think its from a little hike we did this weekend. I guess your knees take the impact of the extra weight? Or at least that's what the google tells me.
AW/Appointments: Had my first appointment with my new MW today (we moved last week). She is pretty awesome and all looks well. Not looking forward to the GD test. I just have to go into the lab sometime in the next few weeks. I also met with our doula and she is an AMAZING resource.
GTKY: What is one of your favorite children's books? So this is a book I discovered recently (because I like to peruse the children's book section at the book store), not when I was a chid but I love it: Click Clack Moo: Cows That Type.
Mom. And you're welcome about the gtky. Books are a really important part of my life, and my parenting, and I love the inspiration to expand my library based on what others recommend.
@Allyvaughan86- I'm also sorry about your BIL. I think I missed you saying before that he had died. You and DH are in my prayers tonight.
@AnnieRoo13- glad to hear a dr say something reasonable about your weight. I hope that cupcake tasted extra delicious.
My update on DH- everything went really well!! The best it's ever gone. We don't know the results of the testing to map out his nerves/scar tissue, but have a follow up in two weeks to talk about everything. His pain in his back and leg are non-existent right now, which is amazing! He cried when the procedure was done and he was coming out of anesthesia because she WASN'T in pain! I'm incredibly happy
