Trouble TTC

-:- 3T Weekly Check-In -:-

Welcome to the weekly check-in!

Reply to this post if you would like your information updated.  Please post an update at least monthly so I know you are still active - even if your info hasn't changed.  You will be removed if you go more than four weeks without posting.

If you would like to be added or updated, please answer the questions below:

1. What is your name (if you want to share)?
2. When did you start TTC (month/year)?
3. What is your diagnosis (if you have one)?
4. What treatments are you doing?

For everyone who is up to date on the above, where are you in your current cycle and how's it going?

If you are finally getting your BFP, please PM me so I don't miss it!  Also this helps me avoid posting an ambiguous BFP if you're not ready to officially call it.

QOTW: Since there was talk of fantasy football.. Do you enjoy watching football?  What's your favorite team?

  • @AnnaClaire256‌ Good luck! I hope you can hold out on testing, I'm not good at that!

@ky29‌ Yay for getting into the class! I hope everything goes well for you!

Well, I am officially in my first 2WW since November and I'm very happy about that! I triggered last Friday with 2 follicles. I'm 8dpo and tested out my trigger which was gone this morning. I will probably just keep testing with cheapies at this point! I know it's too early but I'm justifying it by the fact that I haven't gotten to do this like I would if I had had shorter cycles before. I alternate between being hopeful that this will work and worried that it didn't because I know I'll be disappointed. My H is no help because he's convinced since we had 2 we have twice the chance that it worked.

I don't really care much for football, but I don't have anything against it really. My H likes to watch various teams and games. I went to a NfL game for fun with my H once and had fun drinking beer and eating food!

  • 5dpiui here. I'm refusing to do any testing though I wished I would have tested out my trigger like you @AnnaClaire256‌. I have an appointment on Tuesday to check my progesterone. Hopefully it will be good so I don't have to go on any more meds.

I like watching football with my husband now that he's explained it to me. Not partial to any particular team though I'm sure he would want me to say Eagles.

  • @BunnyBerry - Feel better!!!

@Catlover790 - YAY for the good response!  I'm cheering for you and really hope this is successful!

@awiley10 - Fingers crossed for you!

@autumnray - I hope you don't have to start a new regimen.  Cheering for you!

I'm still playing the waiting game.  I'm on CD35 or something like that.  I've stopped thinking about it everyday because this was our testing cycle.  So no medication plus significant PCOS means I am not expecting absolutely anything.  So we've been just having fun this month.

We do have our testing review appointment on Tuesday morning, so we could theoretically start treatments next cycle.  I start a 10 month internship for grad school in September, so I think I am going to hold off on treatments until October.  Just on the off chance any treatments work on the first cycle, I'd like to finish up my internship completely before having to take a leave.  Never ending waiting....

As for football - yes, I am a fan.  Chicago Bears  :)  I married a Packer fan, so our home is interesting during those games.  Hubby manages about 18 fantasy football teams each year (he used to manage 50+), so every game and sports radio is on all the time.  I'm excited for regular season to start!

June 2014 - Dx w/ significant PCOS and referred to RE.

    Cycle 3 (Jan 2015): 5mg Letrozole/Ovidrel/TI - BFN

  • @BunnyBerry‌ I'm glad you're recovering well, sorry to hear you're still nauseous and yucky though! I hope you can start treatments again soon too! That's good news!

Thanks for the kind words, I think I'm afraid to get my hopes up too much because it's the first one, and I almost feel like I would really never be that lucky. But at the same time, I hope it is!

@awiley10‌ I hope you get good news on your progesterone! FX for you!

@Autumray‌ Sorry for the bfn but glad that you and your H are having a fun month anyway!

@Buttmonkey34‌ Glad you're feeling back to normal, and GL at your ET!

@LindseyM2012‌ I'm sorry for all the waiting. I think in the long run if you wait one more month and it would be good for your internship, you should. We wanted to start TTC a couple years earlier than we did but I wanted to wait until I finished graduate school. Even though now I sort of feel like we could've started then, overall I'm glad we waited.

One thing to think of that delayed us a little and maybe would impact you would be taking Provera and waiting for a period. I had to wait 11 days last month ( I don't think this is the norm) but anyway, it would be possible that you start the Provera in the end of September and the cycle would line up with the start of October. If you even need/want to do it that way! I'm rambling....Anyway...I would hope your first treatment cycle is successful too!!! I hope your RE has a good plan for you at your appointment and it goes well!!

  • In the 2ww here for IUI#3...test Thursday if no AF. Not feeling very optimistic this round. RE recommending we move on to IVF. Might do one more cycle of IUI before a break since will need to save some money. Still deciding- keep going back & forth. QOTW: Definitely a football fan & everything the season brings with it! I always root for my hometown team - the Bengals! Then I also have a few favorite players on my fantasy team that I root for their teams as well.

  • @catlover790 - That's exactly what I'm thinking.  The past 2 or 3 cycles have been over 60 days and have ended with Provera since no sign of AF was in sight.  I'm thinking that I'll just wait until the end of September (since I can probably safely assume I won't get AF on my own before), trigger AF with Provera and start treatments in October.  I'm trying to stay positive because that timing is actually quite great with my internship, but I'm just impatient.

  • IVF #2 was converted to IUI due my no-show follicles. I never did an IUI with injects before. Beta is on 8/21, but I'll POAS before then. QOTW: I live in Raven's country. It is straight nutty over here when football season starts.
    Me: 34 | He: 40
    TTC since 08/2012
    DX: DOR

  • I'm still on break for an undetermined time period.  Going for my pre-operative appointment on Friday 8/15.  The surgery (to remove fibroids) will be 8/29.  I'm anxious to just get it done and start the healing process so I can get back into TTC mode!!

QOTW:  I'm not a football fan and I wish I were!  My DH is a Chicago sports fan (he grew up there) and he's rooting for the Bears.  I watch and cheer for them along with him ...but I can never sit and watch a whole game!  I usually start checking my phone, reading a magazine, leave and go to the gym.  LOL.  I envy people who have a strong sports tie to a team since childhood.  My family wasn't big on sports and I never had that appreciation.

Me - Left salpingo-oophorectomy at 19 due to large cyst/torsion  and 2 large uterine fibroids found at age 30

    Married 8/20/2011
    TTC #1 since Jan 2013
    First appointment with RE 10/2013.
    April 2014 - Clomid 100mg CD3-7.  HCG shot CD10 IUI #1 done on 4/12/14 (CD12) ....BFN
May 2014 - Break cycle to repeat saline sonogram and re-group.  Travel to Kauai 5/7-5/12 (Yay!!)
    June 2014 - Clomid 150mg CD4-8.  HCG shot CD14.  IUI#2 done on 6/9 and 6/10 (CD15-16) w/ Prometrium suppositories during TWW .... BFN
    July 2014 - Clomid 150mg CD3-7.  Ultrasound CD12 - 4 mature follies! HCG trigger shot CD12 AM.  IUI#3 on CD13 w/ Prometrium suppositories during TWW ....BFN
July 2014 - Repeat ultrasound done to measure size of fibroid - 8x9cm (the size of a grapefruit!) Surgery referral made.
August 2014 - MRI done which revealed 2 fibroids: a 13x15cm fibroid as well as an 8x7cm one.  Super freak out mode over surgery plan.  OB-GYN/surgeon said surgery would most likely have to be a laparotomy (open abdominal surgery)
August 2014 - After a 2nd opinion, plan to take Lupron x 2 months to shrink fibroids then laparoscopic/robotic myomectomy.  Surgery date is set for Nov 21st!
November 2014 - Robotic myomectomy done (2 large fibroids removed, mild endo found).  Benched x 3 months

    PAIF/SAIF welcome
  • AF arrived 2 days early yesterday so we are on to IUI #3.

Has anyone else experienced shorter than normal cycles on Clomid?  I was holding pretty steady at 28 days up until last month.  AF came on CD 26.  This month she showed up on CD 25.  Also, it is WAY lighter than normal.  I sent an email to my RE about it but haven't heard back yet.  Sigh.

QOTW: We just started watching football a few years ago so our allegiance is kind of all over the place.  We're both from Louisiana originally so we always cheer for the Saints.  Unless they are playing our new hometown heroes the Niners (we moved to the Bay Area a few years ago).  In which case we each choose one at random to cheer for and then trash talk each other the whole game.

  • I haven't checked in for awhile since we were on an extended break.  Now that we are moving forward, I'll jump back in.

1.What is your name (if you want to share)? Lindsay

    2. When did you start TTC (month/year)? 8/2011
    3. What is your diagnosis (if you have one)? That's a hard question to answer.  I started out as unexplained, but now have a bunch of identified issues.  I have low progesterone (no LPD though), hostile CM, boarderline high activated NK cells. I'm a poor responder to stims, and have poor egg quality.  I also am a carrier for CF.  DH has slightly low morph.  We are currently doing more testing (HLA DQ alpha matching, complete immune panel, karyotyping, and SCSA for DH's swimmers).
    4. What treatments are you doing? We are hoping to do our 4th fresh IVF late this fall (November/December).  We are also seeing a Reproductive Immunologist for further testing and treatment.

Right now we are waiting for our appointment in Chicago with Dr. KK a reproductive immunologist (3 more days!).  It will take 3 weeks to get our test results back though, but that will give us time to get some more testing done with our RE.

QOTW:   Football is ok.  DH is a huge football fan so I do end up watching my fair share.

    Hi ladies,
For some reason whenever I check on my phone I'm not logged in and it's a bitch to do all of the necessary clicks, so I'm a lurker more often than I'd like to be.  On my computer at work now.

    1. Radiantly in Brooklyn NY
    2. Started trying Dec 2013
    3. Endo, and blocked R tube
    4. acupuncture, chiro, arvigo maya massage

I'm feeling hopeful because I know I O'ed on the left side this month. My boobs felt full and hurt on Saturday. I tested yesterday (DPO7) and got a BFN on the FRER. I know it's early but i was hoping.

*Warning BFP and loss (not mine):*
My co-worker told me she got her BFP yesterday, I'm happy for her but bummed.  She has lost 2 so far so she's not even getting her hopes up because she had a chemical also.  I have not had a BFP at all... i would think that it's easier to know that she can get pregnant, whereas I have issues with my eggs getting down the tube.  Everybody has their own problems though and I am working on just not being jealous, I don't wish losses upon anyone!
    TTC#1 since Aug 2013, I'm 37, DH 41.
Maya Arvigo Abdominal massage (daily self care), plus TTC meditations.
I'm very sensitive to diet (gluten, avoid processed foods) and environment. Have a history of inflammation and tendinitis before going off gluten in 2009.
July 2014 - RE Visit #1: Eggs look good, Endometrioma on R ovary, HSG showed blocked R tube close to ovary. DH SA normal
DX: Endometriosis probably the IF cause and gunking up tubes.  Since egg reserve is high, RE says I can wait a couple months and then get laproscopic surgery to remove endo & clear tube.  If that doesn't help then move to IVF.
Dec 2014 - Saw new RE - does not recommend surgery on tube as it isn't likely to help.  Doubts I have endometriosis.  My endometrioma shrunk to neglible size (yay!)
    Seriously considering IVF in March/April
    12/17/14 - Natural BFP!
  • Could I jump in and be added to the Check-In? TTC since 07/2013. Diagnosed with PCOS and the treatment at this time is weight loss and an official appointment with an RE.

The highlight of my week will hopefully be getting AF for the first time in a year. I'm finishing up my 10 days of medroxyprogesterone tomorrow. I bought a BBT, so I'm planning to start temping on CD1.

QOTW: I haven't closely followed football the past couple seasons, but I'm a Patriots fan. In high school I hated them because I couldn't stand to watch Drew Bledsoe, but started watching again on Brady's first start after Bledsoe got hurt. I love me some Tom Brady.

Me: 27, PCOS. DH: 28, TBD.

    Married since August 8, 2009

2009-2011: TTC 12+mo. Irregular periods, normal blood work.
2012 - 07/2013: Baby plans on hold. Back on BCP.
07/2013 - 06/2014: Off BCP to try again. Completely absent periods. High testosterone. Referred to Endocrinologist.
07/24/2014: PCOS diagnosis. Lifestyle changes before determining next steps...
    08/16/2014; CD1!! (Provera)
08/26/2014: RE Consultation. Plan is to continue weight loss, prescribed levothyroxine (50mcg) for slightly high TSH.

Hello ladies! Good luck for those in the TWW or waiting on results/next steps!

I'm on CD 3, and I just had my u/s and blood work. Good news is that my massive cyst has disappeared so we're cleared for trying a medicated IUI this month. I started Clomid today. Not sure what to expect. Here's hoping DH's numbers make it worthwhile!

EDIT: Football! Oh yes. My DH and I used to not watch any football, but we've gotten into it over the last few years due to some enthusiastic friends of ours! I even took over managing my DH's fantasy football team last year as a distraction--and won :)

I liked watching the Lions play last year, but I think DH would want me to say the Bears.

  • Hi Girls, I have been a terrible 3Ter! I have been around the boards, but haven't checked in here in months. I almost feel like I should re-intro. Howdy to those who still remember me! And nice to meet the new faces :)
If you would like to be added or updated, please answer the questions below:

    1. What is your name (if you want to share)? RunCC37 = Cici :)
    2. When did you start TTC (month/year)? NTNP since Sept 2011, Officially TTC #1 since March 2012
    3. What is your diagnosis (if you have one)? Poor embryo quality, arcuate uterus, mild endo
    4. What treatments are you doing? We've been holding steady on the bench since our FET failed in April. I've been on the wait list to see a reproductive immunologist since then. My appointment is in 7 days!! You can see my history in my siggy, but in a nutshell: 6 failed IUIs (1 canceled due to overstim), 3 failed IVFs including 1 failed ET and 1 failed FET, laparoscopy & hysteroscopy.

QOTW: Since there was talk of fantasy football.. Do you enjoy watching football?  What's your favorite team? I never watch football, but DH is obsessed (he's in 2-3 fantasy leagues each season). I'm a marathon runner, so I usually am doing a long run on Football Sunday :D

  • Late check in: nothing much to report: still waiting for the call to schedule my appointment to start letrozole :)
  • Good luck to everyone in the 2ww!

I think it's O day for me today. I had a hysterosonogram yesterday in preparation for a November ivf cycle. Thankfully everything looked good. In fact, I had two big follies on my left ovary, and then I had a positive opk last night. So here is to hoping for a miracle bfp before ivf!

QOTW: I watch football, but I don't live for football season or anything. My DH is obsessed with college football though. He is a huge Tenn fan, and I am an OSU fan. I also like the Bengasl if we are talking NFL.
