Sippy cups

If u have started sippy cups, what type/brand do u use? We have bought 3 and I didnt like any of them. Dr Browns had 5 parts per cup, Avent had a giant lid that hit DS on the top part of his nose when he tried to sip and the handles disnt lock, and Nuby didnt have a lid for travel. I feel like buying a cup shouldnt be this hard??

Re: Sippy cups

  • We have various Nuby ones.  They don't leak but can get moldy fast.  DD seems to like them.

  • DS just tried his for the first time and loves it.It is by Nuk. The handles are stuck on. It has a lid for over the mouth piece and the mouth piece feels like a bottle nipple. It has the measurements on it so formula can be measured out. They also have super cute designs. I'll try to post a pic.

Nuk with the silicone nipple is her favorite. Was DS' favorite, too. I also got a munchkin that she's not into..it's a cheapo, but I had a coupon at Target. I just got a Thermos Foogo that's insulated, but we didn't use it yet. In a few months I will try it.

  • Check it out. I can post from mobile now. Woo hoo! Here's the Nuk I bought DS.
  • We tried the Nuby ones but they are so big that DS can't tip it back far enough in his high chair to get anything. We are going to try the smaller Playtex ones (referral from friend) and see how that goes. We're just practicing with it now with a little breastmilk in it, so I'm in no rush.

  • @babywinks I think once he starts drinking more I'll upgrade him to the bigger ones by Nuk. They don't have handles. I didn't think about this one not fitting in a cup holder.
  • We tried nuby and now the 6m+ avent sippy cups. I personally like the avent cups better and I feel she does better with them.

  • We are using the 4m+ Tommee Tippee sippy cup. It has a hard spout so it's not similar to a bottle, but it only has three parts for the actual sipper, the handles come off BUT stay put when the top is on, it has a cover that pops on and off all the way, and it has never leaked.

Curious as well. My pedi said go for it. Said to put a little water in it with meals.

  • We also have the Nuk one that was posted. He loves it. We also have those cheap Toss N Go (or whatever they are) ones. They have a little spout cover. He likes those too. Honestly, I'm thinking the simpler the better. He drinks just fine out of them. Now he just has to learn how to tip it up when he is sitting in a high chair!
