Pregnant after IF

Praying for symptoms! UPDATED!!!

edited August 2014 in Pregnant after IF
I feel super crazy about this, but I am praying for more symptoms than the intermittent nausea and the off and on "crampiness" I've been having. With my mc years ago, I had no symptoms what so ever and now, I'm having mild symptoms but I'm also on PIO and estradiol (which can both cause what symptoms I'm having) I have my next lab draw on Monday (my first one was 1824 this Monday). I think I will be okay once I see heartbeat(s). I just want to be able to not be so fearful of this not working out.  UPDATE: So My mind was put at ease when we saw TWO heartbeats today. Still not many symptoms, but I'm feeling more okay with it now.

PGAL brain is the worst! I am so sorry that it seems to be looming. I completely understand and I POAS every day until I saw the heartbeat. Please keep in mind that symptoms don't equal viable pregnancy. Try some of the mantras I the PGAL board, they helped me in some of the darkest days for me. One that I thought of most is.. I had a hard time getting pregnant so Mother Nature is giving me an easy pregnancy. I'll send tons of t&p's your way. Keep the positive thoughts in the front of your mind as much as possible.

  • First, I just wanted to say I'm so sorry for your loss. I never experienced a loss but even I was a nervousness wreck when I did not really have any symptoms - it is so disconcerting! I did experience some exhaustion, but as I was dealing wih insomnia at the time and traveling in a different time zone, had I not known I was pregnant I could have definitely overlooked it. But here I am 12.5 weeks along and so far everything has been great and baby looks healthy at every doctors appointment. Honestly, the more ladies I talk to the more I learn that it is almost as common to not experience nausea and M/S and the it is to suffer through it. I just keep trying to take everything one day at a time :)

  • Good luck!  I know how scary it can be.  I'm awaiting first ultrasound on Wednesday and I'm also a nervous wreck, but for the opposite reasons.  I've been painfully crampy on and off, sometimes where I can't function during a cramping spell (also on Endometrin, which I know causes some bad cramps sometimes!), plus constipated, gassy and needing to pee every hour, which I think is contributing to it.  I'm thinking the worst (ectopic preg, or MC) everytime... These first few weeks are so rough, because the nerves just get to you.

I'm so sorry to hear about your prior loss and I send you lots of good mojo while you wait...

  • As pp have said, symptoms can hit at any time so you never know. Of course then when u get any symptom and it goes away for a day, then you start worrying then too. So just take it 1 day at a time and try to forget the mc. I know it's hard (had 1 myself too) but every pregnancy is different. This could be your take home baby! Good luck today!

  • Good luck! Sounds like you have *some* symptoms at least!

I had zero. Nothing. I think I took an extra nap once. I freaked, especially because all the books say "sickness is a sign of a healthy pregnancy." What I learned is that's the same thing as "rain on your wedding day is good luck!"...people say it to make you feel better. There's nothing I can say to make you feel better, but just try and take care of yourself and know that all of us are sending you a million positive vibes and prayers!! xo

  • I had the same intermittent nausea and the off and on "crampiness" you mentioned very early.  It developed to full on morning sickness by week 8 or 9, and really kicked in after I stopped supplementing progesterone.  Enjoy it while its mild, and if you don't get any symptoms just consider it a blessing.

Three ectopic preganacies in left tube in 1999, 2003 and 2004. HSG in 2010 concluded left tube blockage. IUI with femara in 2012 BFN. IVF #1 June 2013, 20 retreived, 14 mature, 12 fertilized via ICSI, one transferred, four frozen, BFN.  FET in September 2013 - BFN:( FET #2 April 2014 - BFP!!!!

  • I just wanted to agree w the other ladies! Also throwing this out there, the only time I ever had nausea was when I was actually pregnant pregnant. I had four cycles that didn't work out with PIO and estradoil and never had slightest nausea. But w DD and this one- oh yeah. Started out mild and only got worse! :)
