Cloth Diapering

Deodorant. Again.

Sorry to post about this again, but I need help.

I made two sticks today, and it's pretty soft. I would like to thicken/harden it up. I'm nervous about putting more beeswax in because I don't want build up in my shirts. Should I add more baking soda and cornstarch? Or will more beeswax be okay?

The recipe I used:

1/4 C. Corn starch
1/4 C. Baking Soda
6 T. Coconut Oil
3 T. Beeswax

It made two sticks.

The only thing that will firm it up is more beeswax. Or keep it in the fridge.

  • I would rather not put it in the fridge. The thought if cold deodorant is not appealing. Haha.

Will adding more beeswax still wash out of my shirts? I switched from store deodorant because it was ruining my shirts and not washing out all the way.

  • I guess. If you like torture! ;)

I'll see how it feels tomorrow. It may not have set up fully yet, and I put it on over my other coconut oil deodorant, so maybe a clean slate and a set up stick will be better?

  • Unless your fridge is sub zero temperatures, it should be fine. Don't your pits need a nice refreshing cold stick anyway? I know mine would love that

  • I don't know, @TJ1979‌ ...I spend WAY more time in my fridge than I do in my bathroom

  • I use extra beeswax in mine and it still works well. I also feel like I get less build up on my clothes because less of it gets glopped on than when it's soft. Beeswax isn't just to firm it up, it has it's own odor busting properties, too.
