Hi ladies! I figured since the PT and gross motor development process tends to be a little slow this check-in might be okay every two weeks--so here we are in early August! How are your LOs doing? Any major developments to celebrate? How are you feeling through the whole EI/PT process?
Re: PT mamas check in
His favorite thing to do is climb our stairs, now that he's figured out how. He's getting so fast! I can't let him out of my sight anymore, he just beelines for the stairs immediately. I'm glad he's getting exercise and getting stronger, but part of me is like, Noooo! Stop working out, baby! I worked hard to get those calories in you, stop burning them so fast!
Still quite a ways from walking, but that's ok. We will keep going to PT until he walks (every 2 weeks). We love our physical therapist!

We are encouraging a lot of squatting to build toward walking - while standing with support, place a toy on the ground for him to reach down for, help him squat if he's trying to bend at the waist instead. He's come a long way with squatting - she was really impressed with it yesterday!

I love our private PTs and even EI PT but I do not like our developmental specialist. She is all about check boxes. The comment was made that yay she can crawl. Her response was that I just one box. I wanted to slap her. Her crawling is awesome and has opened up her entire world. You could at least be happy and excited for her milestone rather than it being a check box. I am thinking of trying to get a new one. One that is more hands on.
