Weaner, Weaner, Chicken Dinner

Hello to everyone who has weaned off BF, or is trying to.  How's it going?  What stage are you at, and how are you feeling?

Wednesday night I felt engorged, so I pumped before bed for 10 minutes.  I didn't get a drop out of the right, and maybe 0.5oz of watery junk from the left.  I cried in front of DH, and told him this was it.  I haven't pumped since then, so it's been 36 hours.  I'm crying just writing this out though.  Even though I hated BF, I did it because DS loved it.  I wish his stomach could digest my milk, and that I could have made it 6 months instead if 2.  I have 171oz of milk in the freezer, which I'm proud of.  We plan on slowly giving my milk with formula to DS around 4 months, to see if he can digest it yet.  I am enjoying the fact that he no longer screams for 4 hours every night, clearly FF was the correct choice right now.

I finally not engorged and am shrinking slowly back down to my normal size. Of course, that shrinking also means tony floppy things, but bf wasnt workong so I'll take it. I haven't pumped in a few days and haven't expressed in the shower on purpose in about two. Still wearing pads because I still randomly leak.

Almost a week in and no end in sight. So frustrating. After not getting anywhere I decided I would just go back to BFing but then LOs thrush came back with a vengeance AND it seemed like my supply was finally tanking. So I stopped after a day of light bfing. 2 days later and the supply is back on full force. I'm not pumping anymore just releasing in the shower but when I do that I can easily squeeze a TON out. And I'm still leaking like crazy and hurt if I don't release. So frustrated with this. I feel like I can't bf and I can't not bf. And pumping was just making me crazy. If i don't see and my improvement by Monday I plan to call my Dr and see if there is anything they can suggest.

Also I totally get the emotional toll. I know this is best but I still feel bad about not being able to make bfing work.

Also! Cabbage actually helped. Rinse a leaf, break the veins a little bit, stuff down your bra and change in a couple hours when it wilts. Also peppermint, altoids were the quickest, easiest way for me. I'd pop three at a time after each meal and when ever elsei saw them. Advil for the pain and swelling. Hang in there ladies!

@shellbell813 I'm sorry you're having a rough time!  Wish I could offer some more advice, hang in there.  It took me 2.5 weeks to be done, so maybe just more time will help you out.

@kaysa2 I'd cut the noon session first.  My engorged time was always at night, so I wouldn't want to cut the midnight session.  That's just my experience though.  Good luck!

LO is taking a bottle without any issues, and I have stopped pumping! Woohoo! All in all it was two weeks of hell but it's over! Just in time for her to have what I assume is a growth spurt. Is it common to have one at 9 weeks or is this part of her wonder weeks leap?

Last week LO had two very sleepy days in a row, then ate all day long on the third day.  I assumed it was a 9 week growth spurt.  He's back to normal now.  And by normal, I mean he eats 2oz here and there, all day long.  Pediatrician said this is fine for now.

@kks4471‌ yeah it's been eat, fuss, sleep for two days. She's even back to two feedings at night.
