My FFFC:  Not happy that DH is schlepping away from home this weekend for a 3+ hour drive (one way) to try and find some stuff his grandmother has hidden in her hoarders-style home.  And, she won't tell him where to even begin LOOKING for these things we desperately need for her.  So, I'm pissed off that he's going to have to spend an entire day tearing apart her house to LOOK for this stuff instead of her just TELLING him where to look.  I love her, but right now, I want to tell her to stop acting like a selfish brat because she's HURTING him and me with her antics.

On the upside, I FINALLY remembered to order my damn breast pump.  I'm hoping that it really IS one that my insurance covers.  Because if not, I might just have a meltdown.  Insurance REALLY should just let us order these damn things at more than 30 days out from our EDD.  Don't they know hormones get WORSE and we start acting CRAZIER the further along we get?!

My insurance covers 100% up to a certain $$$ amount for my breast pump, but only if I get it AFTER the baby is born. WTF!

I put an order in i want to say 45 days out. I had little emma early then I freaked out because I had to pump but since it was the weekend I couldn't get ahold of anyone. Finally on release day the hospital gave me a breastpump....then the company decided to ship the other breastpump on tues. Wtf i tried cancelling that several times. Now i have to call my insurance tell them what happened and pay to ship the damn thing back and provide the insurance company a tracking number and HOPE I do it before insurance decides to charge me $200.

  • My ffc - last night was our first night home with DS. He didn't want to eat much at the hospital which they told me is normal and he will start to pick up more feedings by day 3-4. I still was suppose to offer the boob every 3 or 4 hours at night. Woke up and realized it had been over 5 hours and baby was still sleeping. I so don't feel bad about getting that extra sleep.

  • Fffc: I have a few. First, I'm only 3 lbs from my pp weight and NOTHING FITS. post Partum belt reinstated :( 2nd, my 35th bday is next week and he wants to take me out with friends. Which means I need to pump after every feeding so DD has bottles while we are put. DD nurses both sides, so I can't nurse one and pump the other. And that also means I'll have to pump while out. And drinking, which means dumping. I could just give her formula for the night. I kinda just want to stay home and have friends over, and enjoy a fire.

  • @lookame3639 I wish I could send you like a million hugs. Our EDD are the same so I can't imagine what you're going through with your LO already.

It's great the hospital helped you out, but I really hope the insurance company realizes this isn't your fault and doesn't charge you :(

  • My EDD is Monday & annoyed my SO is driving 4.5 hours each way tomorrow to go to a race. Also, I've been using the paper played I bought for post-outside baby use for the past two weeks.
Okay I've seen at least 3-4 ladies including myself say that their DH/SO are going a decent distance away for a pleasure trip this close to our due dates! I'm glad mine isn't the only retarded one! lol they are so weird!
My confession is that i'm totally appalled that no one has said anything about this considering the way everyone jumped all over that other chick earlier in the week.  Really?
I agree. Just because we know/like someone doesn't excuse it.. and we (myself included), shouldn't be afraid to call them out. ESPECIALLY when we destroyed a stranger for its usage earlier.
  • I worded an email elusively to HR about not returning on Monday, although I also skipped work today. (Bed rest according to the dr, but I've been showing up to some meetings this week). She forwarded to pay roll saying that my maternity leave starts Monday, so today is a freebie full pay day (I get 75% during maternity leave). I almost feel bad about it, but I cc'ed my boss and she didn't say anything.

I will be 100% honest, I didn't even see it! I now see where she apologized though. eta: Because I suck at typing.

I've only been skimming posts today and totally missed this. Not cool, @BabyM82714‌
I was skimming too and COMPLETELY missed that.

Yeahhhhh...come on now.  There's SO many other words that could have been used!

ETA: At least you own it.  Unlike the other person who didn't understand why it was so offensive.

Oh, and also @BlckRoses; I won't flame you for that.  That would make me feel kind of low and sad too.  You're right, it doesn't feel fair, and I certainly would have felt sad too.  *huge hugs to you*

I ate cherry cheesecake for breakfast this morning.

I know I've been bitching a lot on here about work.. but it's getting bad. I *REALLY* wish I could start my maternity leave early. I underestimated how little patience I would have this close to the end, and how much the general stupidity around here would irritate me. BUT DH wants to do "date night" tonight.. so at least I have something to look forward to. He said he'd surprise me.

FFFC- I'm secretly wishing that part of my surprise will include flowers. He hasn't surprised me with flowers in almost a year (since  I took over the finances.. and I really miss it).

Update: he didn't surprise me with a dinner location or flowers.. But way better: HE CLEANED!! I came home to a clean house, and he lit candles so it smells amazing :)
Thats awesome! And if he's anything like mine BF when he cleans, he does a super good job! And candles are such a cute touch! Men just don't understand how awesome coming home to a clean house really is for us!

True story. I would take coming home to a clean house over roses, chocolate, or jewelry.

Ohplusandalso; that specialty board "The Bat Signal"...oh my.  It's why I'm not getting SQUAT done at work today, and I really REALLY need to be.

But the dray-mahz is just too damn entertaining.

So, I guess my FFFC is that I'm endlessly amused at how women get their panties in a twist over some of the littlest shit on the internetz.

Where is this?! I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE RIGHT NOW!!

  • Mine is baaaad:  When I hear FTMs make ridiculous assertions or think they know about parenting, I secretly wish karma to fall upon them haaaard.

Case in point:  The wife of MH's friend (who I strongly dislike), is around 30 weeks pregnant with their first and I have kept my mouth shut throughout, but thus far she has made the following comments to me:

    1.  Breastfeeding is not rocket science, why should I take a class or read a book?

    2.  The only hard thing about having a new born baby is the lack of sleep  (this is based on her extensive baby sitting experience......SMH?  I secretly hope she gets a non-sleepy baby, like my son, who still at nearly 3 years old doesn't consistently sleep through the night....)

    3.  I just can't wake up before 10 am  (again, I really want her to have a baby like my amazing son and daughter who wake up at the butt crack of dawn...every morning)

    4.  My son was testing boundaries and jumping on the picnic table,  and had a tantrum when I told him to get down and she looked at me and said "wow, he really doesn't listen to you, that's reaaaaly not good".....again....karma's knocking at your door bitch.

    5.   "I just would never pay for childcare like you do, I want to raise my own children"  (Its an easy decision for her family, considering that she hasn't held a full time job...in years.  I do believe that the longest job she's held was dunkin donuts, so understandably, it wouldn't be possible to afford childcare under those circumstances.  but I raise my children and to suggest otherwise is infuriating)

I'm a FTM and I would be irritated by this. Some people just don't understand and though I still don't have my first i would never want to make assumptions like that. I just keep hoping I have a good sleeping baby. Lol. I was a sleepy baby when I was little according to my mom and slept ALL the time.

Uh, yeah, she sounds like a class A douchbag but I think you have nothing to worry about. She will definitely gets hers! You'll just have to figure out a way to refrain from "innocently" throwing her opinions bac in her face without making it sound like "I told you so!"

  • @andrea ri 80‌ I can completely understand! A former bff used to make the same comments about her dd compared to mine (mine is 6 weeks older). My dd didn't sleep through the night one single time until she was 4.5 years old. This girl used to tell me that I was doing something wrong because her dd sttn at 6 weeks old. No, dear friend, you didn't put your child to "bed" until midnight and you get her up for daycare at five am. That's not sttn.
