  • Whenever I see the dates everyone else got their BFP I feel kind of stupid and a little bit irresponsible.

I didn't find out until August 19th, and even then I just happened to take the test on a whim. I didn't even tell my husband I was taking it even though he was downstairs, because I 'knew' it would be negative.

Until then, I'd still been partying pretty hard...so while the news was exciting, we were definitely worried about possible repercussions. I'm going to be more vigilant the next time around.

We had friends in town the weekend before my BFP. We were pretty much tipsy or (or, after our kids were in bed, drunk, because: SO RESPONSIBLE) the whole weekend. I felt really bad. We were on fertility treatments with DD, so I was hyper vigilant and on prenatals for months prior, etc. #PoorSecondChild

I got absolutely hammered at the Irish Festival the weekend before we found out (holy crap it's been almost a year?!) - Aiden's doing fine, I'm not worried!

Edit: We didn't find out until the 14th, so we were late to the game as well :-)

I'm pretty sure it would have been pink a week or two before I tested -- that's where the guilt comes in! I'm over it though -- DS is perfect ;)

  • I don't follow formula expiration times exactly. I think it's BS that formula expires within one hour. I always let it go for two hours or so.

Totally was gonna post something similar today. At this point, baby's got some gastric acid built up and I'm pretty sure she will be fine if her formula has been out longer than an hour. I don't discard until at least 2 hours if there's any left she hasn't eaten.
  • I mix odd amounts of formula, meaning I use half a scoop because dd drinks 5 oz bottles and I do not have time to make a head, poor, in hill, etc. and we are often on the go. I measured halfway on the scoop and marked it, so I feel good about it, but I know you're not "supposed to"

    I have two!

I've worn the same dress slacks to work for the last 5 days. No spit up=clean to me. My how my standards have changed.

    Second is a bit long.

I was pumping in the pump room the other day and I thought I had finished so I took the the pump off and I had a second let down so I sprayed BM all over the table and floor. They charge us for napkins and there are none in the bathrooms so I just wiped the table with my sleeve and left. I hope the next guy who decides to use the pumping room as a nap area enjoys the smell. :ar!

    Whaaaat?

Yes the cafe charges us 15 or 25 cents I can't remember, same deal with cups or plastic utensils. If you take them you can get fired for stealing.

  • Alimentum is way too expensive to be thrown out after an hour. We go at least two hours because I hate throwing it out.

I've eaten ice cream for breakfast at least 3 times this week. I really need to start using my gym membership.

I didn't test until the 13th, same boat as you. 7 weeks pregnant and had still been drinking a substantial amount. My roommate insisted we take the tests even though I said "Nah, if I don't get it in another two weeks I'll start to worry." Good thing I didn't wait!

  • I hear people talking about "leaps" and have no idea what they are.  It's on my list to "google" but I haven't gotten around to it yet....

  • My daughter has lost four teeth and 50% of the time the tooth fairy forgets to come the first night under the pillow.  Whoops!
  • I have no idea what date I got my bfp :\">
I only know because good friends of ours announced they were pregnant on Facebook the day we found out... Thank goodness for dated posts or I'd probably never know!

When I was pregnant with DD I didn't get a BFP until I was already well out of the first trimester. I was on the birth control patch and missing periods wasn't an uncommon thing as a result, but when I missed three I was like uhhh...

I think the OB was able to see me like a week after I got the BFP and I was expecting maybe 12 weeks pregnant at the most. I told her that but while she was feeling for a fundal height measurement she said "I think you might be farther along than you think you are." The ultrasound measured me at 15w6d.

I still feel really guilty for not testing sooner, but I had no idea. Babies were not on my radar and my DH was long distance so we were not having sex very often. It was a huge wake-up call that birth control doesn't always control birth.  X_X

Thankfully I never drink, am not a smoker, and was not on any medications other than the birth control, but I still feel that guilt and wonder if the birth control had anything to do with me developing preeclampsia and DD coming so early. OB's don't think so, but I can't help but think about it.

  • Ok, my actual FFFC:

I am out of cheddar cheese! And sour cream! And cream cheese! I'm seriously considering just hanging my head in shame and going to market basket tonight after my husband gets home. I can't find organic cheddar anywhere else except for the local tiny organic grocery store, and I refuse to pay $7 for a block of cheese.

    I am a weak protester :(
  • Oooh, here's one!

I don't mind JWs and Mormons.  When they come to my door, I just thank them, tell them I'm not interested, and that's the end of it.  When I encounter them on the street, I usually have a pleasant chat - more than 90% of my neighbors could manage.  I prefer mormons, but I ran into a pair of JWs today and all they did was pet my pup, awww over DS, and hand me a pamphlet that I promptly threw in the trash.  NBD.

I happened to get sent the brochure to a new day care in our area which also happens to be the only I've seen we could afford. It would mean both DH and I could go back to work and after we paid day care out of his salary he'd still have around £300 left over to put in the joint account with my salary. This would mean he wouldn't have to give up work and we wouldn't be living on beans and bread.

I deleted the email and didn't tell DH because I feel physically sick about putting DD in day care and leaving her with strangers. I'd rather DH watch her.

Does he want to stay home?
    --------------

Yes. He's terrified of DD not taking to him being at home with her but he is looking forward to it. His work have been underpaying him for years (accounting) and he wants to see if he can do a little self employed accounting from home. It's risky as he needs to find clients for that but I think if he can do it, he'd prefer it to his current situation.

  • Last year we spent a weekend at a winery for our anniversary and I was drunk for three straight days. A week later I got a bfp. Plus I take medication for epilepsy that causes birth defects. I was a a complete basket case through most of my pregnancy thinking I messed up my baby. But like poppy said, the human body is pretty cool. It's not really that easy to screw up, even though they're little teeny clumps of cells.

I still wear a ton of maternity stuff.  I have zero dollars for transitional wardrobe clothes right now.

This. I'm looking rough these days.

Also, looking rough around the eyeballs because I'm so effing tired. Sullivan's beautiful predictable nighttime routine has been interrupted by two pesky little teeth buds. I got him to go back to sleep at 8:00 after sleeping less than two hours and he slept until almost 11! I felt a little guilty for just soothing him back to sleep without a diaper check, but we both clearly needed to sleep in..
  • We had our BFP on august 10 but we had a negative 6 days before. Got really drunk on the 1st for my birthday and again after the negative!!! Oops. The only reason I took a second one was that I just didn't feel right.

I like that I can fit back into my clothes from before, but it was really hard giving up the dress pants with the elastic waist. Now I have to remember to button and zip whenever I go to the bathroom or put clothes on.

I totally did my whole 45 min Meijers shopping trip with my shorts unbuttoned and didn't notice till I got home :\">
I was wearing DD though so hopefully it wasn't super obvious!

Wow! You can barely get a block of normal cheese for 7 bucks here. 5.99 is a sale
Where do you live? Here, regular cheese is maybe $2-3 for an 8oz block and I pay $4.49 for my organic version.

I supplement with formula and do this all the time. I didn't know I wasn't supposed to. I've never marked out the exact middle either. Does it really matter? What's the reasoning? It's probably a difference of 5 calories if you mess it up. Plus the directions say not to pack down the formula so I figure each scoop has a slightly different amount anyway.

    I feel so uninformed.
