Anyone else buying their baby gear according to what will fit in their cars?
I have been trying to figure out what stroller to get and it turns out my cars trunk opening decided for me. I went to target today to measure the stroller I wanted once it was folded. I didn't think it would fit so I had an employee take a stroller, and I took a stroller out to my car. One of the two fit into my trunk. It took up the whole damn trunk....but it fit.
So now I am registering for a much more expensive stroller and infant car seat just because my car is small. I guess I should be glad I figured this out now and not after someone bought it for me.
I have a Chevy cruze by the way.

Re: Small car owners...
In our other car, an Infiniti, idk the exact kind bit its a small 4 door. Probably equal to or smaller than your cruze. We actually have her car seat in the middle. It works out perfect since its away from both doors in case of being hit on the side and its very secure. You could always try that to make it fit a little better.
Our stroller fits fine in both cars so I'm not much help on that. We have a quinny buzz xtra.
Its a newish brand and you use to only be able to buy the carseat and stroller combo but as it is gaining popularity they have more buying options and just recently started offering a jogging stroller.
I just read a forum I found on Google where someone said they fit the baby trend expedition stroller in their Chevy cruze trunk. My wal mart has that one....so I could get them to help me try that one.
Baby shopping is hard work!!

We're still going with my favorite stroller, the Bumbleride Indie, I tried and it does not fit at all. I will probably get the Mountain Buggy Nano as well if I desperately need a stroller in my car.
My plan is for this stroller to stay at my parents since they live in town & that's where it'll get used the most. I'm going to register/buy the keyfit caddy to keep in my trunk for just in case I need a stroller scenarios.

Oh jeez, I had not even thought about this. I better get home tonight and make sure ours fits in the trunk of the car. I am sure about the car seat because we babysit a friends son sometimes and his car seat is huge.
Had not thought about the stroller though... Thanks OP for bringing this up for those of us being newbs (probably just me).
Edit: Fail at name dropper.... .
@dh2613 lol.....its ok, I am a total noob too....I have had issues fitting things into my trunk before, so I am glad I went through the trouble of asking the store to let me test it out. My trunk is pretty big in my Chevy Cruze.....but the trunk opening is not. I measured it and it was about 17" x 38 "
My stroller will mostly be used from our house, going for walks, jogs, etc.....but if I want to load it up and take it to the zoo, or to garage sales, I better be able to fit it in my car
I am hoping to wear baby when I can, so hopefully I won't need to drag the stroller out too often. My SIL has a couple "baby backpacks" she is going to let me try to see if I like wearing baby

I tried to put a Graco infant carseat in it and it overhung the seat by several inches. So we eneded up going to BRU and trying out the Chicco Keyfit, which does fit. Then I tried the strollers and will probably get the Chicco Nuevo, because it folds way smaller than the Cortina. I had a graco system in the past and it was great, but now they just don't fit this smaller car.
None of the big huge fancy travel systems or joggers will work for me since they'll take up teh whole back! I have to carry groceries and stuff for all my other kids (mostly the younger 3) so don't have room.
OP, I suggest going to BRU and taking stuff out to your car and literally trying it. I think BBB lets you do that too. I looked up dimensions but until you try it yourself you dont know for sure.
