Pregnancy symptoms, but negative test. Help!

I am 24 and recently married. My husband and I are not actively trying for a baby yet, however we have become much less careful about not getting pregnant. I have been off birth control for about a year, and our method to prevent pregnancy has been to track ovulation (based on cervical mucous and BBT) and use back up methods on the days I am fertile. About a week and a half ago I was lightly spotting. I didn't think too much of it. A couple of days later I began to get very constipated, bloated, nauseous, and had the worst headaches. I also began having trouble sleeping, and have been needing to urinate about once an hour. I was supposed to start my period about 3 days ago (for a 29 day cycle). I have always been very regular and never am late. My BBT never dropped before when my period was supposed to start, and has stayed high. I also have had an increase in cervical mucous, and have been nauseous more often than not the past few days. I took a pregnancy test the night before my period was due to start because I was really questioning. It was negative. I took one again this afternoon and it was also negative. It has been 4 weeks and 3 days since the start of my last period. Is it possible I am pregnant, or do the home test prove that I for sure am not? I have been so confused because my body has been feeling so odd, but the tests keep coming back negative. Are the symptoms just all in my head? I really want to know as soon as possible because I am on a few medications that would be questionable while pregnant. I would appreciate any advice!

I cannot link my chart, I have it on my phone. And I am new to this so it is quite possible that I made a mistake. Thank you for the good advice, I guess at this point I will just wait

Are you manually calculating your cover line or do you mean "COUNTED correctly"? Also 9 DPO is very early.

It's probably a bit early for such big symptoms, but I'd wait a week and test again.  You can always go in to a doctor and get a blood pregnancy test, but it's more expensive and they won't necessarily see you if you haven't gotten a BFP from an at home test.  Still, the blood tests can detect PG a little earlier and this way there's no guess work if you have a fuzzy second line...

Didn't I just read this on TTGP? They didn't give you a "squee, totes preggers," so you came fishing over here?!? Honestly, OP, we're not lying to you... **if you're pregnant enough to have symptoms, then you're pregnant enough to turn a pregnancy test. Since you can't turn a test, you aren't pregnant at this time. The symptoms you're having are PMS symptoms, not pregnancy symptoms.**

I disagree with LuluRM. I had symptoms mainly breast tenderness early. But I couldn't turn a test until later... I don't tracky ovulation, but if I O on the average day, I turned my first squinter at 11DPO. I doubt I O'ed later as the last day we had sex was 2 days before expected ovulation.

I think the TTGP ladies (and 1st Tri too)  covered this thoroughly, but if the test is negative, you're not pregnant at this time. 

Also, with regard to "symptoms"...

-Pregnancy symptoms are very similar to PMS; you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

-If you're pregnant enough to have symptoms, you're pregnant enough to turn a stick positive.

-(anecdotal because that's all anyone ever seems to want when they ask these questions) With my current pregnancy, I "noticed symptoms" within the two week wait before I could turn a stick: I was convinced that I was fatigued and nauseous with sore boobs....holy hell was I fucking wrong or what?!?! In reality, at that time, I didn't have any fatigue that was greater than my usual exhaustion (I was just more aware of it); I was psychosomatically convincing myself that I was nauseous (it was completely incomparable to the real thing that I got a few weeks later); and my boobs were only sore because I was feeling them so freakin' much to see if they were sore. Based on what my actual pregnancy symptoms felt like when they finally occurred, I am certain that NOTHING I felt prior to my BFP was actually attributable to my pregnancy. I just made shit up in my head...like you're probably doing.

Lah dee fucking dah. Still a coincidence. Symptoms from HCG are not seen until you have levels high enough for a pregnancy test to detect them (many tests will pick up levels under 10mIU/ml). If the test is negative, you don't have HCG, thus your symptoms absolutely cannot be attributed to pregnancy hormones because you don't have any.

I actually think it would be common sense for me to correlate the fact I have breast tenderness only the two times I was pregnant with the fact I had breast tenderness before I turned a test as an early sign not pms. Since the other 162 or so times I've had my period and never experienced that tenderness. It's not like I'm running double blind clinic tests. I'm simply telling the OP of my experience.

And as for my other posts, im sure you are talking about the one regarding abortion and failed birth control... that was my opinion and just because you disagree doesn't mean I lack common sense. I think you just like being an internet bully and putting people down. Hope it makes you feel like a real big person.

It's still pretty early OP. As of right now a negative test means not pregnant. Give it a week and test again if you haven't gotten a period. If you go 60 days without a period or + call your doctor. I didn't get a lot of symptoms until I hit about 5 weeks and they progressed from there. And at 5 weeks it was just some bloating and fatigue which, again, are also common pms symptoms. How long is your LP usually? @akhungerford

For those that can't see the siggy the picture is of a kid in their underwear pulling their shirt up. The caption is "FLASHback" with "flash" capitalised or bolded. I am on my mobile now.

For those of you posting who are not in your 1st trimester now, some of you do have really good advice but it is mixed with such negativity and profanity that it is unlikely that the original posters take your advice seriously. If you are here to help and tell people the truth, that's fine. But you might want to think twice about how you deliever that message because I'm sure it isn't helping anyone if they arent listening due to the total lack of respect you have for the posters as human beings.

You need to step back and/or leave because you are saying ugly things & sick things about the photos of other posters' children. That's completely uncalled for & a cheap, dirty shot at a completely unrelated situation.
