F15 January Siggy Challenge: What I'm Looking Forward to After the Babies Arrive Bringing them both home...UPDATE...The girls are home!!! 1/7/15 after 20 days in the NICU!
I haven't, but I can imagine that it would be very tough to find out about a twin and deal with a loss all at once. I'm really sorry if this is the case for you.
I did. My first appt was at 10 weeks. My OB did an u/s and found two sacks but only one baby. She said it was a vanishing twin. I did not ask any questions so that is all the info I got.
I did. We triggered 3 eggs during our IUI so we knew there was a possibility of multiples. When I went in at 6 weeks for an U/S they saw 2 sacs and one baby. It was hard to hear that we'd lost one, but everything I've read said that the surviving twin's chances are excellent so that helped. We just focused on our little fighter. Sorry if this happened to you as well.
This happen to me with my second son. I had an ultra sound that showed two babies/ two sacs and then a week later had a little bit of spotting and there was only one baby/one sac. They said it is very common.
Yes, this was the case with DS. After some initial bleeding and cramping, the embryo was absorbed, and I had a healthy, normal pregnancy. It was hard emotionally, though.

Happened to me at my 7 week ultrasound as well. 2 sacs, one fetal pole. We were just really relieved to have a healthy singleton though, after a SCH scare.
This happened to me. At our 12 week appointment they couldn't find it anymore. It was sad to feel like my body let me down. Ultimately there is still a very healthy baby and that's what matters. gotta stay positive!
This happened to me as well. We transferred 2 eggs & I had a good feeling we had twins with our high betas. We had 2 sacs, but only 1 hb at our first u/s. Our OB confirmed the vanishing twin at our first OB visit. I'm so sorry for your loss. Both my RE and OB said the remaining singleton would likely be unaffected.

I have been super nervous about possibly having a vanishing twin. The percentage this happening goes down drastically in your second trimester but it can happen to anyone in the 1st trimester. I can only imagine how difficult this could be to deal with.
