Help - new bras needed!

I've been ignoring the fact that my boobs have grown a cup size larger and have been using the same old bras. Welp, the underwire is now digging into my ribs and hurting like hell and my boobs are so squished I'm in pain. Any recomednations for new bras? Store or Brand? Or type?

Re: Help - new bras needed!

  • Macys is the best because they have a variety if sizes and styles for nursing bras. I have big boobs and I'm always able to find bras there.

  • Are you wanting Nursing bra's or regular?  I wear a 36DDD or 38DD when I'm not pregnant and find the best, most comfortable Bra's at Lane Bryant.  I know it's a "Plus Size" store but I LOVE their bra's.

  • I was measured at Victoria's Secret and ended up needing to get a bigger bra.  I then went to Macy's at another time to buy another and had such a hard time finding one my size because I guess it's not that common.  I'm sticking to Nordstrom or Victoria's Secret from now on.

  • I get mine from VS so far because it's hard finding my band size (32) in most stores. Although, I'm tempted to ask YaMrWhite how she likes the maternity bras she recently ordered... I was a 32C pre-pregnancy and am filling my current 32DD bras. It's almost time to move up again :/
@crazymonkeybear That's exactly my problem.  I was a 32C and am now a 32DD.  The associate at VS recommended getting a 32DDD to allow more room for growth.  It fit, but I could tell that I didn't quite fill it out.

  • I prefer VS, and have actually only ever owned one bra from a different store (it sucked).

I'm about to outgrow the biggest cup size though so I'm panicking.

I always recommend the Dream Angels Demi. It's memory foam so super comfy, Lacy so super pretty, balconet style (no slipping out of the inside and needing to adjust!) and the straps are fully adjustable.

  • Ditto on lane Bryant such cute bras if you have big tatas like me. They also hold up well.

Lane Bryant and VS are owned by the same company, chances are you will be able to find a similar bra at LB. Plus I have found that my LB bra's way outlast my VS one's.

  • I went to a boutique that actually carries every size imaginable and actually will tailor bras to your unique size and shape. The brands if you want to look them up are Panache and Chanell. I love these bras so comfy and I have one that is more like a sexy bra but doesn't give me 3rd and 4th boob. (that means that the girls are spilling over the top).

    Good Luck!

Which style of bra do you get at Lane Bryant?  I had bras from there that I really liked, but I grew out of them a few weeks back, and the larger sizes in that style werent comfortable.  My store doesnt have a lot of 36's or 38s in stock, so I have to guess which styles would be comfortable to order them, and I have no problem copying!

  • I really need new bras, too, but I am scared that they'll get even bigger, and I'll buy nursing bras that need to be replaced. Mine have gotten HUGE. Ugh.

  • I was worried about that too @kaybeeknits‌ I bought some nursing bras at motherhood and they are more like sports bras. I also bought a sleeping bra. So far I'm happy with them. I am 36 DDD pre pregnancy and I'm up to 36F. There is a bit little room to grow too.

  • I need new bras too went to the store looked at the sea of bras and went home what a daunting task :( and im also DDD before pregnancy so i need to find a big chested store :( its not ok to go braless for the next 8 months is it
  • @kayham12  The nursing bras at motherhood, the sports bra types, are they fairly loose or do they hold the girls up tight?  I was going more of a sports bra route, but i cant stand to have them held up so firmly.  Im looking in the 40F range right now, and im afraid they will get even heftier.

  • @rainbows‌ they had as much support as a normal sports bra. Nothing like an underwire can support. I couldn't find any that I was willing to spend money on with wire that I thought would last. I think they will work fine for the next several months

  • I found a great bra at Soma. VS were too small in the cup, and the wide straps at Soma were super comfy. Also it feels really sturdy and they make a lot of their styles in nursing bras too
  • I think I'll try Lane Bryant. I'm in desperate need of new bras. Do they do coupons?

They sometimes have coupons or buy one get one free/buy one get one half off on their bras. If you need a larger band size or cup size bigger than DD you might have to order online.

Aw man! I currently wear a 36G, I know I'm at least an H cup at this point.

Both Lane Bryants near me carry lots of the 38+ band sizes, but for a 36, you will likely have to order because they usually only had a couple of those in stock.

I went to a specialty store, got fitted, tried bras. Got 3. I expect to go back if(when) I outgrow those. But my selection wasnt working at home anymore. I am Bigboneded so my problem was more that I needed bigger bands, off the rack at Kohls just wouldnt cut it at 44....

  • I wish I knew where to get a good bra. I find it hard to get one in my size in maternity shops. I'm a 32H normally but I know I've gone up a back size at least and using extenders and just outgrown the cup. Really need a new bra! I have a Victoria secrets but most of the shops here in UK will be different to those you have in the States.
I normally go to a specialist bra shop for fitting (Rigby & Peller, bra fitters to the a Queen no less! ) but they're so expensive for my size.
Looks like I'm going to have to bite the bullet and fork out as these 2 puppies are bursting out now!

  • I get fitted once in a while at an expensive specialty bra store near me (about 40 minutes away actually). I ask them to write down the ones that fit me. They always fit and check the bras. Then I order online. I like the bravissimo site. Even with shipping g it's cheaper than what I can buy for here in canada. I'm a 36H when not pregnant! They get bigger when I am.
