genetic testing... cost question

Sorry if this has been discussed before.. I am scheduled to do the genetic testing on Wednesday (8/13).  I originally called our insurance with the insurance codes to see if any of this would be covered.  The person I talked to said 80% would be covered and we would be responsible for 20%.  She couldn't give me an actual dollar amount that any of this would be.  I was just wondering about how much it costs?  If it is too much I'm not sure we can afford it even paying only 20%.  While I would love a chance to see the baby again it isn't something I *have* to have.  I will hopefully be hearing the heartbeat on Tuesday and that is really all I need!

They charge insurance companies a lot more than they charge for out of pocket so answers may different. It also depends on what test/lab it was.

Mine also pays 80% and i had the harmony test sent to labcorp. I havent received a bill yet but i will share when i get mine.

Ooh! Just noticed you said see the baby. Are you talking about an NT test ultrasound? Its a measurement ultrasound with bloodwork. If so call the place you are having it done. They should be able to give you an idea in pricing at least of the ultrasound part.

My Insurance company was charged about $1630 for the NT Scan

I was told that Quest charges insurance companies $3000 for the Panorama test, but if you self pay - they will charge you $300.

I called panorama and the test is 795 out of pocket.

My insurance was billed $1900 for the NT ultrasound and blood work. The insurance paid $875 and everything prenatal is covered 100%.

My OB office said the Harmony test ran around $800-something WITHOUT insurance coverage.
