I think I should be able to have a beer in my car while I go for a drive. Just one. Obviously I understand why the laws exist and don't want them to actually change, but it would be nice. Especially while driving around a napping baby.

Maybe I'm just not a very sensitive person... but I don't understand why we always have to write things like "loss mentioned" we're all adults and are capable of skipping over and getting over things that are posted. I've had losses and sure it's sad and it's sad to read about but this is a pregnancy forum and things like that happen. 

I think that sounded bitchier than what I meant it to. It's not that I don't have empathy for people who have experienced loss, because I have. Maybe it just effects me differently or maybe I'm just better at letting it roll off my shoulders? 

Now I'm scared to hit post because I feel like what I wrote sounded crappy.

True, I feel like it would sting a little more if I had a recent loss but I still wouldn't expect anyone to tip toe around for me?

Along with the dog thing, even if your dog is nice to everyone you have no idea about other dogs. Your unleased dog could walk up to another dog to play and that dog could be nervous and then attack your dog. In that situation, you are at fault imo. Not the owner of the scared dog.

Also, retractable leashes should be outlawed. They are so dangerous and give no boundaries for the dog. I've heard of so many horror stories of children losing fingers from it getting wrapped around them. I also hate when I'm walking around work and a dog greets me around a corner well before I even see the owner. Once again, your dog could approach a scared dog or even a nervous child.

I think we need to err on the side of caution with losses. It may not affect you as much as others but shouldn't we as a community of women make those with a hard time with their losses more comfortable than the inconvenience you feel by adding a warning?

I still cry over my loss. I'm still very sad about it. I don't feel like I've been slapped in the face when someone mentions loss without a warning but I know other women do feel that way. So I try not to hurt them further.

All of this. I chose my ring in line with my style at the time DH proposed (almost 8 years ago). Now I'd like something a little blingy-er but still want to keep my center stone and band.

I've never had a band. DH couldn't afford a ring for long time. We got engaged in December of 09 and I didn't get an engagement ring until Fall of 12. I hope I get a band by my fifth anniversary which is next May. I want one like this.

My Dad used to do this with our border collie, and it drove me nuts. She was obedient but not 100%, just like any living animal. She was suspicious of other dogs and small children, had a tendency to nip which is natural to the breed, etc. I always hoped he'd get a ticket but he never did.

Yesterday I was pushing DD around in her push car at the park and a small dog came running up to us. Of course DD was dog-height so I screamed. How do I know if the dog is aggressive or not? I almost kicked it and hissed at the owner (who I had just nodded politely at), "GET YOUR DOG AWAY". He grabbed the dog, then put it down or something and it ran up to us again! 

Hello, nobody knows if your dog is friendly but you. If it were a bigger dog, I would've lunged to cover up DD and even if it were friendly, it probably would have interpreted my move as threatening and bit me.

Agree! There is a small dog that has started barking at me while I am walking my LO and it is very intimidating!

I love my e-ring and band. They were H's grandparents, and they are perfect. I wouldn't mind a ring to add to the set as an anniversary present for when I want it blingier.

I like my ring but if my SO bought me an upgrade, I'd be cool with that. I'd never ask for it though.

My UO contribution: I think personal conversations on cell phones should not take place in public break areas. Brought to you by the loud woman on the common area benches at work who I now know wants to euthanize all of her 3 dogs today because they wont stop fighting.

I cant un-hear that and it breaks my heart. :o3

I think it's gross when people let their child walk around public places without their shoes on. The exception being a pool, water park, etc. If you're in the grocery store, your child should have on some damn shoes.

I am so glad you all posted about dogs because it helped me remember my UO:

The Pixar movie UP is totally not appropriate for kids.

I found it super distressing!
Especially those scary dogs that were programmed robots.
