Re: *** 3rd Tri Checkin - 8/06/2014 ***

  • 36 weeks today!  One more week and we are considered "term."  Yesterday was a scan and NST with my OB, next up is the same with the MFM on Friday.  Munchkin measured 5lbs 6oz so we are hopefully on track for a 6+ lb baby.  Fluid is still low but stable, so I'm just supposed to keep doing what I'm doing - drinking LOTS of water - 90+ oz/day, and modified bed rest.  The more I lie around, the more tired I get.  On Sunday we installed the car seats and packed the hospital bags, but DH still hasn't put them in his car!  We are way overpacked I am sure...

QOTW:  So I did that thing where I asked a question that I don't really know how to answer!  I guess one good childhood memory was going "down the shore" in the summers - I grew up in PA and we'd go to the Jersey shore.  Now I live in LA so I do expect we'll take Munchkin to the beach, even though it's a different shore from the one I went to as a kid :)

Upcoming appointments? NST on Friday, Regular and high risk OB on Monday. Will get another growth scan.
Any updates to share? c/s is officially scheduled 8/16!! I feel good about our decision to do a section.
How are you feeling? I was feeling OK and then my parents came to town (they live on opposite coast). I really appreciate having my Mom's help but my Dad and I have always had problems, and he's stressing me out. And then I also get frustrated with my Mom b/c she doesn't do anything to "protect" me from him. So today I am really emotional (I'm sure hormones aren't helping) and tired. I'm trying to come up with a plan to deal with my Dad but I'm frustrated that I even have to deal with that when I've got so much else going on. DH is being great.

Had an u/s and NST yesterday, and the strep test on Tuesday. NST came out perfectly (woo hoo!), and at the u/s they looked at baby's growth and found her head and abdomen are measuring right on track, and that she has incredibly long femur/thigh bones. Long legs! So, apparently, that's accounting for the extra weight right now, and should make the dr less worried about her getting too big. She's an est. 7lb1oz already. Waiting on strep results still.

Also, think today will be my last day actually going into my office -- I'll be working from home until baby arrives.

    How are you feeling?
So tired! But getting excited, and hoping I'm prepared enough to do a natural birth. *deep breaths*

QOTW: What's your favorite memory from childhood?  Is it something you hope your own LO(s) will experience as well?
OutdoorGirl10 -- playing outside, in general. Tons of awesome memories about running around in the grass, using my imagination, rounding up the neighbor kids to do some random performance on my deck. I grew up in the suburbs and we're in the city, but with a small yard and super close to parks...so I hope LO will have plenty of these kinds of experiences and memories.

@marnief So glad to hear fluids are stable! And if I could magically transfer a few oz from my baby to your, I would. But sounds like all's well!

Began TTC #1 in Sept. 2010. I was 33, DH was 36.. Dx with DOR and slight MFI (8/4/11).

    Test results (after first RE visit 6/21/11): 7DPO b/w: Progesterone = 11.3; CD3 b/w: FSH = 10.1 mUnits/mL, E2= 52.0 pg/mL, AFC: 6; SIS Ultrasound: Uterus great, tubes clear! AMH: 0.3

    IUI#1 June 2012 (Follistim/HCG trigger): BFN
    IUI#2 July 2012 (Follistim/HCG trigger): BFN
    IUI#3 August 2012 (Follistim/HCG trigger): CP (Beta #1: 4.61, Beta #2: 1.0)
IUI#4 October 2012 (Follistim, ovulated before trigger, missed IUI, converted to TI): BFN
    Jan. 2013 New RE
IVF #1 June 2013 MDL Protocol. Converted to IUI#4.1. (High E2 and 3+ mature follicles at first monitoring.) BFFN
IVF #1.2 August 2013 Stop Lupron Protocol with Human Growth Hormone added. 17R, 14M, 9F (with ICSI), 2 embryos (decent quality - grade 2) transferred on day 3, 2 blasts made it to freeze. Beta 8/26. BFFN :'(

    FET #1 December 2013 Last try! Transferred 2 blasts -- graded 3AB and 4BB. Beta #1 (12/27/13) 530. Beta #2 (12/30/13) 1876. BFP! One bean. EDD 9/3/2014!

We welcomed the most beautiful baby girl into the world on September 11, 2014!

Upcoming appointments? I have an ultrasound on Friday.  Had my weekly OB appt on Tuesday and dr. said I was measuring small based on the fundal height.  I'm not to concerned, but want to make everything is ok with our little guy.  At my 37 week appt. the other OB (there are several in the practice) said the baby will probably be in the 6 lb range.

Any updates to share?  Other than my ultrasound appt, nothing much.  I'm hoping it's nothing too serious and that the ultrasound will give us more detailed information about the growth of our little guy.  All of my previous OB appts indicated normal and expected growth, so I'm hoping it's just a measurement issue.

How are you feeling?  Not the greatest, between the super itchy PUPP rash that goes away and then a new spot pops up and bug bites, my skin is driving me crazy.  I have to keep the Sarna lotion on my nightstand so I can slather it on during the middle of the night.  Also had a killer calf cramp last night and was in tears afterwards.  I'm really to ready to have this baby and get my body back to a more normal and less irritating state.  I'm going to pick up some coconut water tonight to make sure I have a glass every night to help stave the cramps.

QOTW: What's your favorite memory from childhood?  Is it something you hope your own LO(s) will experience as well?  My favorite memory was going to Orlando and visiting the Magic Kingdom, Sea World etc when I was 9.  We just had so much fun and it was a great family vacation.  We are hoping to do the Disney thing with our son when he's around 5.

  • How far along are you? 30 weeks, 6 days
Upcoming appointments? Just had one today! Cervical length looked good and we start weekly NSTs on Monday with another growth ultrasound on Thursday. I can't say I'm excited to spend that much time going into the office, but I'll be happy to know that everything is OK with the boys.
Any updates to share? Nothing too significant. Swelling in my feet and ankles is here to stay, and I'm measuring 43 weeks, which I find ridiculous...
    How are you feeling? Good!

QOTW: What's your favorite memory from childhood?  Is it something you hope your own LO(s) will experience as well? I loved going to the beach with my family and I can't wait to enjoy it with our boys. Holidays too, I'm so excited for their first Christmas!

  • Hey ladies.

I am 33 weeks this week. My next appointment is next week Wednesday and I'll see my doctor for the first time in a month (I saw other doctors in between because he was on vacation and then the other time didn't have any appointments available). I will be having an ultrasound the following week so its crazy to think this was my last week with no appointments. Starting next week I have appointments every week. DH and I have narrowed down our names a bit with help from family. We did a tournament style thing for our friends/family to help us out. We will be narrowing it down to the final 4 by Saturday. We are planning to go to the hospital with 4 names and then when we know if it is a boy or a girl choose from 2 names at that point. I am feeling pretty good, but still dealing with awful heartburn and trying to get comfortable. I know this is all part of being pregnant but I won't miss it when its gone.

QOTW: What's your favorite memory from childhood?  Is it something you hope your own LO(s) will experience as well?  I loved when my family went to Disney but since we live/work here our LO will be spoiled by that. I think it will become one of those not so special things.I really think my love of Christmas and having time with family then will be something I want to make sure they take as a family tradition.
Me 29 DH 30 Unexplained IF TTC since wedding May 2012. IUI #1 11/5/13-BFN.  IUI #2 12/5/13-BFN. IUI #3-12/30/14. All three with Femara CD 3-7 and Ovidrel trigger. +HPT 1/13/14 First +ever!!! Beta #1 195 Beta #2 1/15-533. Ultrasound on 2/4 showed one bean. EDD 9/22/14. Team Green turned Team Blue-Baby Conner arrived on 9/19/14.

  • Hi ladies! What a whirlwind week for carrot and me! Baby Boy Micah was born 8/1 at 0115 by urgent Csection for heart decelerations into the 50-60's. He sure gave us a scare with APGARS of 7 then 9 but is an amazingly healthy lil nugget. Unfortunately he also tore some of mommys vessels requiring additional repair in surgery and moms hemoglobin to drop significantly (almost needed blood)!
We are recovering well tho--no Percocet for this chick (eww--puking)! Micah sleeps 3-4 hours at night and is already back to his birth weight if 8# 4oz at one week old.

Many prayers for you ladies for an easy delivery and for your LO's!

Any updates to share? Group B was negative. I am still hanging out at 50% effaced, no dilation. I was surprised because I had a crazy week, but OB said to take it easy thing week and something will likely happen.

The crib is assembled and it is white (yay!!) and the car seats are installed. I am still throwing things into the hospital bag everyday, but I feel confident that after this Saturday (finishing details in the nursery) I will feel ready to greet LO.

How are you feeling? I feel pretty good. I had a lot of foot swelling, but I had a crazy week (photographed a wedding on Saturday, our dog had to go to the emergency vet on Sunday, ran transfer student orientation at work on Monday, etc). After things settled down on Tuesday night and I was keeping my feet up they went back to normal. I am trying really hard to enjoy each moment of being pregnant (even the bad things) because it may never happen again, but I am also just at a point where I want her to be here ;)

QOTW: What's your favorite memory from childhood?  Is it something you hope your own LO(s) will experience as well? I have a lot of great memories, but one of my favorites is when my Gram came to visit each summer. She was my only surviving grandparent and we were very close. My mom is going to watch LO a couple of days a week, so I hope that they have their own special bond.
