Macrobid daily for rest of pregnancy!

A little background, in feb I had a miscarriage at 16 weeks do to undiagnosed infection, E. coli. This pregnancy I have already gotten 2 uti, I'm ten weeks. Today at doctor the doctors decided I need to take macrobid daily after I get rid of this uti, to sterilize my urine. Anyone else have to do this? I'm not looking for mean comments, I know there are some risk, but nothing as far as lossing my baby due to undiagnosed uti.

I don't know anything about taking it the WHOLE pregnancy but I took it the first 11 weeks of pregnancy last time. I kept getting UTI's. Doctor said it was safe. I would call your doctors nurse line to ask this just in case.

Macrobid is perfectly safe and a good call by your doctors

Macrobid is safe agreed and should be used to get rid of your UTI. I took it. However I think there is something about it that is unsafe after 36 weeks. I would ask your doctor, and if they are still comfortable with you taking it the whole pregnancy then do it.

I did read about after 36 weeks,and will bring that up next week when I go. I'm only 11 weeks so that's far away:)

I am also on macrobid for the rest of the pregnancy. I was told its safe but has to be discontinued before the end of the pregnancy. I have made an extra appointment to sit down and talk with the doctor about all the risks.
