What materials can go against the skin?

I know microfiber cannot go directly against the skin, but what materials can/cannot?

I haaaaate the feeling of microfiber and stuffing pockets makes me cringe so I'm going to make the transition to non-microfiber materials. But what can go against the skin? I'm planning on using mostly flats and prefolds but I want to get doublers and other things to stuff in pockets that aren't microfiber.

Can hemp/bamboo be against the skin? What websites have the best prices for these?

  • Okay thank you! I didn't even think of stuffing the flats into pockets. I did stuff a prefold into one but it was waaaay too bulky.

I don't really use the pockets anymore but DH and anyone else that changes prefers those. I just hate touching microfiber.
