I didn't nest with my daughter, but since yesterday all I want to do is clean. I am by no means a clean freak.... I have piles of laundry upstairs that I never like to deal with but I even dreamt of cleaning last night and right when I woke up my first thought was to clean.... I can't decide if I hope this is a phase or stays so I actually get all the chores done in one day lol any one else freaking out about getting everything clean and ready? I only have about 3 months left and I just don't feel prepared!

I'm on a laundry kick, too! But it's not nesting. It's my desire to rid the house of the stench of H's rank hockey clothes.

It's the clutter that's killing me too! My daughter starts kinder this year so I just feel like I'm not prepared for anything! I've done a little school shopping but usually I would be done by now.I start getting ready for an event 3 months before but ugh I'm just not getting stuff done fast enough...

My husband played hockey his whole life until a few months ago.  I can attest - hockey clothes are the worst kind of stinky laundry that exists.

I have been on a declutter kick. I have been sorting and cleaning out everything. I feel like we just need to do a giant purge!

My house could sure use a deep clean. I never nested with my son. I kept waiting for it to kick in, never did. I'm a clean person, but i'm not a neat freak. I wish i enjoyed cleaning them maybe my house could look like the ones i see on hgtv, beautiful spotless and clutter free.

We are decluttering and I really want to get rid of some of our dumb nick-nack crap. 

I also am wanting to start washing the baby's clothes but 1. I don't have the furniture to put it in yet, and 2. there's really no point until after the shower because then I'll just have to do some more.

I may do the bedding this weekend though.

I wish I had this! Lol. The only thing I'm getting antsy about is the baby's room. My boyfriend moved into the house we live in after his grandpa passed away so theres a lot of stuff to just go through, but I don't really feel like its my place to do so. His mom keeps saying she's gonna come get rid of things for us, but nothing ever happens! It's a tough position to be in because I'm like well I need it done, but its her father's things.. ugh, so stressful. I don't wanna be putting baby things together and away during my contractions!

I haven't been cleaning excessively, but I have been going crazy on all of our closets to make space for baby stuff, will eventually do the same with cabinets.  I have no idea how 2 people and 2 dogs accumulated so much!  I'm donating what I can and trashing some (on days when H isn't home- see next comment), and moving the rest to the basement for H to eventually deal with, cause he's a borderline hoarder who won't let me get rid of half of what I want to.  I can only donate/trash things that I know he won't realize are gone, drives me nuts!  I'd consider closet re-organization a form of nesting :-)

Are we married to the same man?  He refuses to let me throw away the box for our 5-year-old computer because we might need it.  WTH?  

OMG I had this exact same argument with H over our computer box a few weeks ago! It has since been retired to the basement, lol, which has turned into a sad graveyard of unused boxes and broken $hit that apparently we might need one day.

I went on a cleaning spree over the weekend. It was a whirlwind of madness. DH caught me scrubbing the light switches. I wasn't willing to admit I was nesting until that moment.

Nesting is GREAT.  A person gets a lot done.

I am slowly getting there.  (I wish it would kick in NOW.)   I have lots of weeding and organizing to do. 

TBH, I feel like shopping more than anything right now.  But yeah.  The desire to clean needs to kick in soon.

I told my husband before while cleaning for the millionth time so far this week and having him tell me to relax, "you don't realize how filthy these door jams are! I HAVE TO CLEAN THEM ALL!" I realized nesting set in when I realized that my door jams and my entire house aren't dirty at all, lol.

Omg- send me some of your nesting energy, ladies!!! It hasn't hit me yet so all I do is stack all the cute baby stuff in the nursery closet. They are still in the shopping bags. Like I'm even too lazy to take shit out of the bag!

I'm at the "nesting list making" stage. I want to be cleaning, organizing, preparing meals but I can't seem to keep my eyes open. But a good thing is I'm a great list maker! My lists have lists.

I wish I had the energy to do a deep clean.  I'm more in the mode of getting rid of shit/organizing.  I really want to hire someone to come in and do a deep clean a month or so before my EDD.

So after my smart-ass comment about H's hockey clothes, I actually started doing nursery stuff. We'll be painting some furniture today! I don't know if it's nesting instinct or the fact that I'm a type A planner and am going crazy with the mess back there. Perhaps a deadly combination of the two?

Anyone working on any nursery projects?

ETA: @Econosaurus We have so many boxes of baby stuff arriving on our porch. I bet our elderly neighbors are talking about that IRRESPONSIBLE SPENDTHRIFT COUPLE across the street!

I think I want to work on the baby's name for the nursery wall.  I kind of want to do scrabble letters!  I am going to hit AC Moore or Michaels this weekend to see if I can figure out how to do it myself!

@Mawilliams97, I think I'm also in the listmaking stage. I have over 3 months to go but I have a list of things to do for the baby's room and things to pack for the hospital. I already have a ton of clothing, burb cloths, swaddlers, blankets -- some purchased, lots of hand-me-downs -- that I've washed and are ready to go.

@MmmPopcorn, I've taken a couple of trips to Jo-Ann and Michaels and have to get started on a few small nursery decor projects, like yarn-wrapped cardboard letters and some crocheting. My baby shower is also coming up in a few weeks and I plan to make something with any cards I might receive. Even though I have a few months, I feel like there's so little time!

I've started cleaning things that aren't done on a regular basis, like the outside windows and such. I've also been on a kick to finish various projects we've started. I want to get them done before the shower so I can focus on the nursery after we get stuff. I'm also trying to do things while its still comfortable to do things myself!
