Anyone here use LinkedIn?

I'm new to it, and I was wondering if someone can help me out.  I feel like a complete idgit.

When someone endorses you for a skill-- what do you do?  Are you supposed to endorse them back?  Are you supposed to send them a message to say thank you?  Do you just do nothing?

HALP.

I hate the endorsement thing too. Apparently they want you to endorse them back. People who endorse me are usually actively job seeking.

So do you guys accept connection invitations from complete strangers?  I get tons of those (mostly because I work in HR for a big company, I'm sure; not because of my own credentials), and I accepted them at first, but then my updates got overrun with crap about strangers because it seems like they are the ones that are constantly posting.  And it's super weird when they endorse me.

I accept strangers if they're in my industry.

I do this too.  I work in a relatively small industry, though.

That's what I ended up doing after I became more selective.  People who work for my company, managers in my industry, HR managers, and recruiters.
