Uncomfortable.

Oi vey. Anyone else as uncomfortable as I am?! I can't sleep at night, because I have crazy insomnia and can't find a comfortable position. Plus I have to sit at a desk all day and I just feel so restless. My arms hurt, my legs hurt, and getting up and walking just isn't helping. I'm debating switching my chair out for a big balance ball. Anyone have any experience with those at work while pregnant?! I'm just wondering how good my balance will be with a big ole belly.

No experience but I'm with ya on the uncomfortable. I'm sitting at my desk right now miserable. My feet are SO hot and swollen I just want to take off my shoes but that's kinda frowned upon in this establishment. I wake up every time I move at night because of the pregnancy pillow but if I don't sleep with it I'm uncomfortable to begin with. Somethings gotta give!

LOL Why can't we just work from home in our pj's on a nice comfy couch?!

    Cuz I needed to smile.

This is exactly what I was thinking about. :)
  • I have crazy insomnia and can't get comfortable as well. I worked from home last pregnancy and sat on a yoga ball when I needed to be sitting. I'm a SAHM now and haven't ended to pull it out yet but I can stretch whenever I feel like it.

  • I have no experience with the ball, but this is exactly how I'm feeling. I'm never comfortable.
  • I stole an extra trash can from the office next to mine, flipped it over and use it as a foot rest under my desk. It helps a lot to put my feet up while I'm sitting and working.

The pajamas are nice, but even the big comfy couch isn't so comfy to work from these days. It wasn't an option to have one where I worked last time I was pregnant, but I very well may bring my stability ball out of retirement for working purposes. It helped to relieve some back pressure when I'd get home from work last time.

  • I will be ordering a Snoogle soon, or stop by BRU. I get uncomfortable at night. I toss and turn a lot. :sigh:

  • I'm with you! I toss and turn all night to the point where my DH can't get any sleep. Then when I'm up my feet always hurt!
  • Can't help you on the ball front. However definitely am hitting the uncomfortable stage. I am caving and calling about a prenatal massage.

  • I think I may just go ahead and get the Snoogle as well. And thanks for the tip about propping my feet @irish2014. So new checklist: purchase Snoogle, prop feet, possibly use stability ball, and get a prenatal massage.  :)
  • I sat on my stability ball chair until about 15 weeks (after that I moved and now work from home = couch). It's great for core stabilization, but it actually put some pressure on my hips/butt. That said, it's recommended for optimal baby positioning in the 3rd tri, so even if it's not perfectly comfortable, it'd be good for the body and baby.
