double stroller choices and Prius

On Craigslist, I found a very old Mountain Buggy (urban double, probably) for $150, and a Joovy Ultralite with some accessories for $100.  Before that, I had decided to get a City Mini Double GT.  I will soon have a newborn and a 20 month-old.  I hope that we will walk in our neighborhood every day and go on hikes away from our neighborhood a few times/month.  We'll also use a stroller at doctor's appts and other tighter indoor places from time to time.   I was thinking I could get both the MB and the Joovy and use the MB for the neighborhood and hikes and the Joovy for indoor cases.  Alternatively I could use the CMDGT in all situations.  Which would you choose?  Does anyone have experience getting any of these in the back of a Prius?

Re: double stroller choices and Prius

  • I really like having a dedicated walking stroller that stays open in the garage (assuming you have a garage) and then something else in the car.  I just find it SO much easier to know that we are ready for a walk or a car trip without also having to load a stroller.  The Mountain Buggy and Baby Jogger are both great but I'd be inclined to do the 2 so you have things ready when you go out.

Not sure on the fit in your Prius though.
