Mantis shrimp photos for Rondack

1. Tank : 15 gallon tank with 30 lbs of rock rubble and 3 pieces of live rock that I took out of my coral tank. We have 2 led light tubes lighting the tank.
We have a protein skimmer to help tame waste out of the water. There is a power head in the corner to keep the water flowing through the tank. The filter is a simple hang on back one, instead of the stock filter material, we are using chemipure. It's pretty good at absorbing phosphates and nitrates.

Currently, the mantis's cave is under the far right rock.

How cool! I showed my DS1 these pics which caused us to Google more mantis shrimp pictures. Then we fell deep into the Google image rabbit hole.

They have beautiful colors. It's almost unreal.

I think they are all really cool. M loved the colorful ones but they are all so vibrant and awesome.

You may not want to watch. Some idiots will put their hands in the tank and get punched by the shrimp. The force will split the skin open, it looks very painful.

Whoa! That's insane. I found a few videos but no one seemed to be getting injured. They just laughed about it and let the shrimp do it again.

That's really fascinating. Their punches are the strongest in the animal kingdom, right?

Yep! The video that cagedbirds posted says that they can hit with a force of 22 newtons (kg•(m/s^2))
