FB Event Question

So, I don't know if I told you ladies or not, but one of my roommates from college was just diagnosed with thyroid cancer. 

I decided (because you ladies always inspire me) to start a sunshine mission for her on Facebook.  I invited all of our old softball team.  I named it Gina's Sunshine Mission... shh it's a surprise...well then it showed up in my feed.  There's no where on there to make it "private", that I found, could she see that?  I hurried up and deleted her, which felt wrong, changed the name, and sent her a friend request. 

Now I'm all jumpy that she saw it, and it won't be a surprise.   anyone know anything about that?

Private groups and invites that I belong to show up in my news feed all the time, but no one else can see it. 

Best of luck to your friend! My Mom had thyroid cancer when I was young. She had the surgery and beat it. She's left with the scar, but she's here! I believe it is a very beatable form of cancer.

Yeah and I definitely didn't select that because there are some girls who I'm not friends with on FB anymore, for instance, my one "friend" who completely went batshit crazy on me for some invented reason of hers, something about me not supporting her lifestyle because I voted republican or some crazy BS like that, I told you guys about it, because it really hurt my feelings... anyway diarrhea of the brain, she was on the softball team too, and should know about this event, so I needed some of the other girls to invite her... glad I changed the name... hopefully that keeps it on the DL.

Thanks @econmama and everyone else, apparently it IS private!! 

I also want to thank you all for thinking of my friend.  She's 28... so bleh.  

So glad to hear your mom is doing well @ChrissieMeas !
