Stressed to the max!

I have epilepsy and my seizures are becoming more frequent.  I am in grad school and due to my health, am extremely behind.  I work with autistic children and had to quit because my client kicked me in the stomach and now we are down an income (now have $1100 for a family of five).  Now I find out that my father (best daddy ever) had a mild stroke today and I can't get to him because I have no money.  All this, in addition to my high risk pregnancy and taking care of my other 3 children.  So stressed, my husband and I can't even afford to get school uniforms and supplies for our children, let alone baby supplies!  I can't believe all this is happening.  We lost our daughter last year, so this pregnancy already has us on edge.  Sorry to vent, but I am definitely at my wits end and need some suggestions.

  • I am sorry to hear that you have such a full load. There has to be a way for you and your family to find some organizations that can help you out. May want to call your children's school. Often the principal and counselor have resources for uniforms and supplies.

I hope your dad has a swift recovery and you guys come out stronger on the other side 9 this.
  • *hugs* Sorry, I don't have a whole lot of suggestions as I'm dealing with money crap right now too. Is there maybe a cheaper school with no uniforms? Or is there a program that has donated uniforms from past students you could try? I know there are a few schools that do that in my city. As well, try looking into a program that gives school supplies to families in need. I know there are a few in my city alone so I'm sure other places must have some. Good luck, I hope things calm down soon and everyone's health gets better.

That sounds like a lot of stress. I would mention it to your doctor so they can give you advice on where to seek some help. Maybe local financial programs and a therapist. Sometimes it helps just to have someone to talk to to validate your stresses and fears. Therapy is great.
This.  Maybe the doctor can also advise some charity groups or programs for the baby needs specifically?  GL - I'm sorry things are so bad right now :(

  • I'm so sorry you have all that on your plate right now. T&P's that things get better. I would sign up for multiple government programs. You can and should be eligible for them. Hopefully you can find some things to help relieve the stress you're going through with money. Also like PP said you should talk to your doctor about some ways to get rid of the stress that you're shouldering right now.
